Vehicle Detail

Brand new parts are still available from Mercedes, and road tested parts are readily available when needed. Stay away from aftermarket cheap parts ever, or expect to replace them again. This car is all Mercedes appropriate parts, including the Mobil 1 oil which they now come with new. Oh yes, this also has the permanent (cleanable) and famous K&N “FilterCharger” One Million Mile air filter that I also added. If I was still in traveling condition I would not hesitate to load it up and drive to the East coast right now. It has been totally reliable, as expected. Chosen as one of the 8 best used car buys possible by Popular Mechanics magazine. See the article: http://autos.yahoo.com/news/8-hot-used-cars-on-sale-for-pennies-on-the-dollar.html?page=2 1986 to 1995 Price Range: $1500 to $10,000 Why It's Cool: The first Benz to introduce the chiseled, taut body. Feels like it was carved from a solid metal slab. Somehow appeals to both the counterculture and the upper class at the same time. What It Says: "When the revolution comes, all of you mindless jerks are going to be the first against the wall." Speed Bumps: Oddly fashionable with hipsters, so supply is dwindling. Diesel models are slow enough to cause brain damage. Parts prices induce fainting. Why You Want It Anyway ...: Minor components will outlive your children's children. Later diesel versions produce little smoke and sip fuel like a hybrid. Apocalypse transportation par excellence. The original carpet is immaculate under factory original matching carpet floor mats with logo. The driver sheepskin will be as form fit as the passenger seat does but was taken loose for pictures which did not turn out to show the original leather is in like-new condition. The straps are seen hanging behind the console in another picture and confuse the scene some. So is the steering wheel leather without defects. There are only a few minor details that keep this from being perfect and all can be taken care of. There is also a cash hideout location. The dash clock still keeps excellent time. I have become disabled, so my housekeeper took the pictures. There are few things that keep this car from being perfect. You might be able to see the scratch on the air dam on the driver side. The grill is not damaged. It is the model designed to provide a mount point for a Mercedes or other grill badge. Original owner qualified for first badge of 250,000 kilometers (155,000 miles) before trading in. Bought by dealer that kept it for himself before selling to me. It now has right at 161,000 miles on it, and still runs smooth and strong on Shell or 76 and Mobil 1. I told my housekeeper to take a picture of everything she could see that was not perfect along with the other shots. The one picture of the rear tail-light area must be new from being in the parking lot, but does not look to be very much to worry with. It looks like somebody’s door paint that should polish off. Did I say this is rust and dent-free? I have not been outside for several weeks. So it has not been washed lately other than for several rain storms coming through last week to wash it off. It deserves to be back in a garage again! The picture with the Bosch package beside the passenger seat is the new wiper that I asked her to put into the trunk. The thing in the door is a windshield sun screen that was supposed to be brought in with the maps and glove box contents. But I trust that she found all the obvious noticeable blemishes. By the way, the wiper is a one blade design that works great to keep a panorama view instead of tunnels from driving in the snow, which it has probably never been in. But I have seen from how well it works on rain and realized the advantage for being in the snow with a single wiper to not leave any pillars and tunnels that would be there in the snow from having two wipers, Instead of two semi-circle tunnels and a pillar between them, you get to keep the panoramic view when you need it most! Did I mention it has posi-traction and less than only about 2500 miles on new Michelin speed and snow rated Ice-X tires? I would like to get $1000 within 48 hours of the close of the auction and the balance within 7 days or contact me before auction end. Be the happy bidder that gets to enjoy this fine automobile next. Mercedes anniversary (Karl Benz patent) a few days ago from January 1886.
