Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1981 Pontiac Trans Am. The T/A is showing 80,029 miles, but I’m pretty sure it’s more like 180,029 miles. It is black with tan/brown interior. It originally had a 301 (4.9) engine, but now has a much more powerful 350 (5.7) engine, from a 1987 Camaro IROC-Z. This engine came from the factory with a roller camshaft, roller lifters and center-bolt valve covers. The TPI set-up was removed and the engine now has a factory aluminum 4 barrel intake manifold and a Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke. This T/A comes with a 700R4 4 speed overdrive transmission, replacing the old TH350 3 speed transmission. The driveshaft was resized and rebalanced. The car drives and handles well. It comes with a set of wider 15x8 Pontiac Rally wheels by Wheel Vintiques and Goodyear Eagle GTII tires. The car has a Flowmaster dual exhaust. The original factory splitter exhaust tips, shaker hood and shaker hood scoop are still with the car. The factory owner’s manual is also included. The car is in overall good shape, very solid and no rust. I was driving the car 3-4 times a week, with the intention of doing a small restoration as time allowed. The car will need some interior work (recover driver’s seat, door panels, headliner, etc.) and currently has seat covers on the front seats. The dash has a few cracks and has a Dash Mat. Rear seats are good. The passenger side door does have a small dent that will pop out. I was going to do a modified “Bandit” Trans Am style build up, but recently purchased another project and this one has to go. This T/A is a nice and driveable classic, perfect for someone who is looking to get into a classic “Smokey and The Bandit” type car for a very reasonable price. The car does have a good clear Texas title. This car will be listed locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time before the auction ends. The winning bidder will be responsible for vehicle pick-up/transport. You are welcome to have the car inspected through ebay or any other company. All I have is what you see in the pictures for this car, nothing more. Please bid only if you are going to buy the car. If you have less than 10 feedbacks, please email before bidding. Buyer is to pay all shipping/transport cost.
