READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE BIDDING!!! Up for sale a 2001 Toyota Corolla. This is the special "S" sports edition, 5 speed manual stick! Car has power locks and power windows. CD Player with AUX input for iPod/MP3 Players Brand new transmission and new clutch installed less than a year ago. (Over $2000 repair!) NJ Inspection good until 5/2013! Car runs and drives! However, it does have problems. The door handle is damaged from a passenger pulling the handle too hard. Paint on the hood is no longer glossy/shiny. Some of the hubcaps are missing. Exhaust rattles when taking off in first gear. Various little dings and scrapes all around, mostly around the lower portion of front bumper. Lastly, the headliner is slightly falling down just near the rear window. and the biggest problems: Car will need a front brake hose and transmission case. The transmission is less than a year old, but I had an inexperienced friend install it, and the bolts weren't tightened enough, and eventually they were pulled out from driving/flexing over the past months. Cost of parts is over $450, plus whatever labor will be. I already spent $3000 on the car, and $2000 on a new transmission, so I really don't want to keep the car anymore. I decided to just get a new vehicle. Car runs and drives as it is now, but my new mechanic said that it will need servicing "extremely soon" because "two of the three bolts are no longer in place." The reason that it needs a new case instead of just putting the bolts back on is because "the threads were torn out when the bolts flexed, and the hole is now much bigger than the bolts. He says that you can still drive it as it is now, but odds are it won't make it until the summer without a new trans case." Car is sold as-is. Without warranty.
