Vehicle Detail
Hello and Thank You for looking at my Auction. My name is Bill and I sell very special Luxury Automobiles, hand-selected for Quality, Value, and Dependability. Buying your next vehicle through My Ebay auction will save you 1000's over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle, and, also, other Ebay Sellers. Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on eBay. The description you are reading is an honest description of this vehicle based on my experience, who drive it and my observations about it. While I strive for complete accuracy in my descriptions, you are bidding on a used vehicle, 24 years old, but very well-kept. with miles in excess of 100k. Each potential bidder is encouraged to come see and drive this vehicle in person before bidding. **VERY IMPORTANT** -**Please take the time to read this entire description, including reviewing all photos as well as my terms & conditions, before bidding. Up for auction today is a Very nice 1988 Cadillac Allante Convertible Roadster, with the Matching HardTop, Included! The Cadillac Allante is a very popular vehicle ever made because it was a departure from the normal General Motors model. The Allante was produced from 1987-1993. The Most-Valued, and the Most-Dependable years, are the 1988 and the 1992 models, which have the most Allante's still on-the road, worldwide,(by A.C.C. of America) The Pininfarina designed body lines are unmistakable, and one-of-a-kind. In fact, not only was this car designed in Italy...it was actually built in Italy and shipped to the United States in specially modified aircraft for installation of the engine and transmission (which were pretty much the only domestic parts of an Allante). The Allante was a very exclusive vehicle. When it was new, an Allante carried a much higher price tag than a Corvette...even topping the ZR-1 in its later years. The Allante is a prime example of a Limited Production vehicle that never really found its niche, until now!! I buy Allante's because of their ever-increasing value, and this is one of the nicest, most complete examples I have seen so far, which also was given A ABOVE AVERAGE by Mr. Dick Hussey of AllanteSource, of West Palm Beach. Mr. Hussey is the ultimate expert on Allante Appraisal, Repair, and Parts, for all Allantes' worldwide. As you can see, this is a great looking Allante. It is finished in Metallic Gray(an original, very rare color) with a Black soft top and Burgundy Interior. This Allante also comes complete with its hard top ( a factory option that is even harder to find still with the car) in excellent condition. I would rate the exterior condition of this Allante as ABOVE AVERAGE. The paint has a deep shine throughout and shows no noteworthy scratches, dings or dents. I was not able to find any rust on the exterior of this Allante. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The tires have good tread and have been replaced recently. All of the trim and badging are in tact and look good, too. Overall, this is a great looking Allante with the very desirable hard top, when you can find one, they cost an additional $1800.00, and it probably will not match your Allante. I would rate the interior of this Allante to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. As you can see, the door panels are clean and in tact. The Visors, have been replaced, and the Seat Belt fasteners, which, as you know, are a common problem on ALL Allantes. The dash, seats, console and carpets are in great condition. There are a few significant things about this Allante that set it apart from most. The first is that all of the electronics are in great condition. Not only are all of the button surfaces in great condition, but everything appears to be working properly. Both power windows, power mirrors, power seats and the power locks all work properly. The radio sounds good. The sound is full and balanced which is very important with these vehicles. The condition of the interior in this example is impressive. As these cars age, the interior pieces tend to get "loose". All of the interior pieces are tight and line up properly. The climate control system is responding properly. The air-conditioning is working as new, blowing Ice-Cold, at 58 Degrees, just replaced and serviced by world-renowned Allante Expert, Mr. Dick Hussey, AllanteSource Owner, of West Palm Beach, Fla. All of the instrumentation is working properly, also just replaced by Mr. Hussey, of AllanteSource of WPB. The next remarkable thing about this Allante is the condition of the top mechanism. When you raise the top, you will see two small (like smaller than my pinky nail) holes from the mechanism itself. This tells me that car has spent most of its lift with the hard top on...which will probably explain the next sentence. Every Part of the Top Mechanism is Working Properly!! In addition to having the original soft top, the boot and top releases work perfectly and have not been stretched. The boot closes properly over the stowed top and the pull down motors appear to be working perfectly!!! Both escushions are included to match the boot. Like I said, this is the most original and correct Allante I have seen to date. Mechanically, this Allante is in good running condition. The 4.1L V8 starts right up and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks or smoke coming from the engine. During my time driving this Cadillac, about 140 miles, the engine held proper oil pressure and a normal temperature. There were no warning lights on and no current codes in the diagnostic system. The suspension feels tight and composed. The steering is responsive as it should be. The brakes stop the car well. Out on the highway, she cruises nice and smoothly with no pulling. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. There are no known mechanical issues with this car. This is a perfect Allante to have. It is in great physical condition. It comes about as complete and correct as you can expect an Allante to come...and...it can be driven. It is not a high mile car which makes it desirable...and it's not a super low mile Show Queen that you feel bad driving. The worst thing about a super low mile collector car is that all of the value is in the miles...and it depreciates with every turn of the wheel. An example like this can be enjoyed without depreciating the heck out of it every time it moves. This 1988 will be the most-valued year, and this Rare Color, will be sought out by Allante Afficianados, for many, many years to come by Allante experts opinions. Thank you for considering this remarkable vehicle. ** PLEASE NOTE- CALCULATED OWNERS, ARE: (1) ORIGINAL OWNER, (2)AUCTION. AND (3) MYSELF, TO OBTAIN TRANSIT TAG TO SHIP ALLANTE FROM FLA.
