1984 SUBARU BRAT GL This is a 1984 Subaru Brat GL in good running condition with just over 154k miles. It is the GL model so it has the optional T-Tops and rear bed mounted jump seats with the belts. It has a manual transmission and still has the factory clutch which has begun to slip. It can be driven around town with light acceleration but go up any good size hills without momentum you can feel the clutch slip. I have driven this on the highway and it seems to be fine as long as you don't put the pedal to the metal. I have been quoted in the neighborhood of $500 to have the clutch replaced locally. If you want me to have that done before you pick the vehicle up that will need to be payed for with the deposit, but realize the money to have the clutch replaced will be added to the cars price and is NOT included. The transmission itself shifts flawlessly without grinding or popping out of gear. I just had some routine maintenance done to it which included ignition timing set, valves adjusted, air injection system service, carburetor rebuilt, new battery, and a smog inspection. The paint does shine very well on the car but is not original and looks like a cheap repaint. The body is in pretty good condition overall but does have several small dings all over which are accentuated by its shiny paint. The hood has dents from being parked under the same tree for several years and getting hit with pine cones falling. The inside of the bed doesn't have any evidence of rust which is extremely rare for a Brat, nearly every other one I've seen has rust all over. The seats are in decent condition and are complete with the belts/buckles. All of the lights work on the car including the dash lights. The interior is in decent condition considering its age, the dash does have the normal cracks in it and under the seat covers the seats are pretty worn. The T-Tops do not leak nor do they have any rust below them. The drivers window rolls up and down without a problem. The passenger side door was replaced previously with a power window equipped unit. The power window is not wired up but can be pretty easily. The rear window is in good shape, it opens and shuts just as it should. All of the gauges in the car work including the dash lights. It still has the original radio which still operates but doesn't get stations in very well. The windshield does have cracks in it from rock chips over the years. Please realize that this is a great car you can daily drive while restoring if desired. It isn't perfect but is nicer then all the others I have owned and seen. This vehicle is located here in Chico, Ca which is about 1.5 hrs north of Sacramento on Hwy 99 and it 15min from I5. The car comes with a clean and clear California title, I just put the car on Non-op with the DMV because it is no longer being driven. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!!!
