Vehicle Detail
1998 Toyota Tacoma 5 speed - Still runs like a champ. Peppy and quick as ever with the 5 speed. Drives nice and straight no pulling etc. This truck loves to be driven on and on and on. I have owned this truck since 32K miles and it has to this day never ever failed to start. The body is solid with no visible rust. The paint chipped in some places which is where you see the different green paint. This truck can easily be painted (even a cheap job) and will look great. Has been taken in to Toyota 3 times for "undercarriage rust recall exam" and each time they said the undercarriage is fine rust wise. Make no mistake about it I would get in this truck right now and drive it cross country without worry. Having said all that here are some pretty minor things that need attention:Front brakes need to be bled and needs bleeder valve (few bucks) - new brakes just done but not bledRear bumper should probably be tossed. These trucks were at times sold without rear bumpersNeeds new muffler. Has a hole the size of a pancake which I patch. This I believe makes check engine light come on. When I patch it good the light goes out. The muffler if you can weld is under $50. The entire muffler section is like $125 at Autozone.E-Brake works fine but needs adjusting causes brake light to come on panel. If you jiggle E-Brake the light will often go out. This is common in 90's Toyota's and affects nothing in this case.Heater blower motor just stopped working - it may just be a fuse I have to checkThe heater cable to the "blend door" needs to be changed. This connects to the dial regulating cabin heat. I just go under hood and manually open and close blend door. This truck HAD ice cold A/C until this summer when it started blowing not so cold. May need freon?Tires are fair. Not horrible but fair.
