Vehicle Detail
I bought this truck used in 1998. It had 1 previous owner and 30,000 miles on it at that time. It has run beautifully for the 14 years I've owned it. It starts reliably on the first attempt, idles/drives smoothly with no skipping or chugging, does not burn oil, and needs only the occasional tune up and oil change. Overall, it has been a GREAT, reliable truck and as far as I know has not been involved in any major accidents. As with any older truck, there area few things that need replacement/repair or at least need to be mentioned. ENGINE: 5.8L V8. Runs great, no obvious oil leaks, new Interstate battery. I think there may be a small leak in the gas tank...there may not be, but if more than about 16 gallons are in the tank, I can smell gas. I think that the soddering that connects the upper half of the tank with the lower half may have a leak, since the smell goes away when about half a tank of gas remains. The transmission was replaced the summer of 2005 at about 150,000. I have had no problems on the new transmission, and it seems to be running very well. But I also had no problems with the old transmission until I needed to replace it, so I can't guarantee anything. AC/HEAT: The air conditioning is reliable, and blows very cold air. The heat is equally strong. 4x4: standard push button, 4x4 operation. Worked great until about 3 years ago, when the u-joint holding the transfer axle in place came off. Since the u-joint holds the transfer axle on, the transfer axle currently sits behind the back seat and since I have lived in southern states since I've owned the car, I never needed it, so I have not gotten it replaced. I spoke to a mechanic about it, and from what he told me, it just needs a new u-joint and the axle re-attached and the the 4x4 system should be ready to go. BODY: Overall, in great shape. As far as I Since I've owned it, it has been a southern car (TX, FL). I was told, the previous owner lived in Georgia, but I cannot confirm that. In any event, there is no rust that I know of. If its there, it's hiding. It has chrome Westin tube steps and a top that I've never removed. I don't think the previous owner did either, because the seal is tight and there are no airleaks. The drivers-side door handle (on the inside), is broken, so to open the door, I open the window and open the door from the outside. There is a 3 inch dent in the right front bumper. Also, there is a small crease in the sheet metal in the left rear. The rear gate works well, but currently the rear window is not working, so the gate remains closed. TIRES: The tires are Bridgestone Dueler A/T and have about 25,000 miles on them. They are in decent shape. INTERIOR: Leather seats. All seats except for the drivers seat are in very good shape. The drivers seat has two tears on the seat cushion. I currently have seat covers on the drivers and passengers seat. The gray interior is in very good shape (no tears) but has some minor stains on the floors. All three floor mats are intact and usable. All electric seats and windows (with the exception of the rear window) work well. RADIO/CD PLAYER: Radio works, CD player does not. I think that is most things. I tried to represent my Bronco as honestly as I could, but I am sure there are things I didn't mention. If you have any questions, please call at 210-368-2023.
