1970 Pontiac Grand Prix Model SJ Hardtop Coupe Baja Gold with Dark Gold vinyl top and Gold cloth/vinyl interior Rare 455 V8 and 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission This listing is for a 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix Model SJ hardtop coupe. This car is Baja Gold with a Dark Gold vinyl top and Gold cloth and vinyl interior. This car has the rare 455 V8 engine with 370 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque and many desirable options including rally wheels, power driver seat, tilt wheel, power windows, and air conditioning. The odometer shows 53,937 miles, which appears to be correct, but which I am not able to verify. This car has a valid New York transferable registration and safety inspection. (New York does not issue titles for 1972 model year and older vehicles.) This car is mostly original, with the exception of a repaint and new vinyl top in the original color combination. The vinyl top is the correct color but does not appear to be the type of vinyl that would have been used originally. A modern audio system with a trunk-mounted CD changer has also been added. Mechanically this car is in excellent condition with no known problems and excellent tires. However, I cannot verify the functioning of the air conditioning since it is currently winter. Cosmetically this car in excellent condition for an unrestored 42-year-old automobile, showing only minor wear and tear. The only notable flaws are and two minor paint blemishes (see photos below). I bought this car several years ago from a dealer in Florida. It was originally delivered in Mesa, AZ. I have a copy of the original build sheet showing the original colors and options and the name of the original dealer. This car is located on Long Island, NY. The buyer is welcome to pick the car up in person, or to have it shipped to their location at their expense. The buyer will be responsible for making any applicable shipping arrangements. The buyer must pay a $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining balance will be due within seven days of the close of the auction and may be paid with a cashier's check or, if the buyer picks up the car in person, cash. As this car is 42 years old, it is of course sold as-is, with no warranty. This car was represented to me as a numbers-matching car by the dealer who sold it, but I have not verified this. Also, there is some discoloration on the passenger side dashboard as visible from the photos, and other minor wear on the interior (e.g. paint flaked off on the steering column, wear on the armrests and kick plates). I would like to stress that this car is in excellent condition for an unrestored 42-year-old car, but that is what it is: it is not in mint or "like new" condition.
