Vehicle Detail

We are offering at auction a 1963 Dodge D100 Town Wagon equipped with a slant 6 engine and 3 speed column shift manual transmission. The truck will be sold with a notarized bill of sale which is the way we purchased it.It had been parked in a garage for a number of years and was not running. We installed a new 12 volt Interstate battery, new plugs, cap, rotor and points. We installed new brakes front and rear including wheel cylinders and rubber lines and a new master cylinder. We also replaced the clutch master with a NOS unit. The gas tank was rusted from sitting so was replaced with a fully refurbished replacement with custom mounting brackets(better than original equip)and new sending unit as well as new copper line from tank to fuel pump. The entire exhaust from the engine manifold to tailpipe appears to have been replaced just before storage of the truck and despite surface rust from sitting it's tight and solid. The truck starts easily with a working manual choke and the engine runs extremely well with no smoke or unusual noises(quiet for a slant 6)there's plenty of power and it's geared to drive along at 55-60 comfortably. The clutch catches properly with no chatter or slip and the 3 on the tree shifts great with no hunting or sloppiness. The brakes have a firm pedal and stop as well as they did in 63.Mechanically we've made this truck a really good driver, cosmetically we've done nothing besides the wheels and tires.Previous to our ownership someone did some "industrial strength" welding of the floors and filled sections of the front doors, fenders and quarters. The pictures show where it's busting out.Step boxes are very solid with one hole on the passenger side. The frame is absolutely rock solid with no repairs and none needed. All the glass is very good including the windshield. The odometer and speedo work as well as oil, temp, and amp.The gas gauge is new but doesn't register properly. The lights including plate, blinkers and stop work as do the blower motor and electric wipers. We were told by the woman we purchased the truck from it was originally owned by The Department of Agriculture of Connecticut and sat more in it's life than it was driven and the miles may be accurate, but she's the same bold faced liar that told us by email it would need "very little" to get it back on the road again! Soooo....Reserve is set very low to insure a sale and recoup some of our investment and let the next guy have some fun and spend some money. We encourage phone calls, emails and definately in person inspections as long as they're all BEFORE the end of the auction. We monitor our auctions closely and remove and block ZERO and questionable feedback bidders.Thank you!On Jan-25-12 at 14:40:46 PST, seller added the following information: *************ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS SALE***********2 ADDITIONAL REAR DOORS-THE ONE W/HANDLE HAS RUST ON THE INSIDE BOTTOM****ONE W/O HANDLE HAS ZERO RUST****BOTH ARE THE SAME COLOR AS THE TRUCK! *******ALSO,2" THICK DODGE TRUCK SERVICE MANUAL************
