Vehicle Detail
This is a 1968 Camaro , was originally a small block SS , 4 speed car , PS , AC , Deluxe interior , console with factory gauges including ammeter , oil pressure , temp , fuel level . Factory speedo/TicTocTach combo . Island Teal with black vinyl top . The body was completely stripped down to the skeleton , then media blasted , epoxy primed and coated before new sheet metal was installed . DSE Wide tubs were installed in rear along with notched rear subframe and relocated rear spring mounts to accommodate wider rear tire/wheel for Pro Touring , Pro Street style look . At this point stock or aftermarket rear leaf spring suspension is employed , but could easily be changed to aftermarket Pro Touring-type suspension such as DSE Quadralink Ect... Rear shock mounts have been moved inboard and incorporated into the floor/trunk pan with custom shock towers and can use stock type mount shock absorber .Custom subframe connectors have been grafted into the new one piece full floor and do not intrude into the interior . Front subframe has been welded solid , Guildstrand Mod applied , all welds and slag smoothed and cleaded up , QA-1 coilover conversion shocks installed , lower a-arm modified to better accept coilover shock setup and totally rebuilt with new bushings , ball joints , steering linkage ect... it is set up for disc brakes . The rear has a custom narrowed Ford 9in rearend with Moser alloy axles and a GM disc brake setup . It currently has a spool and 3.50:1 gears . The spring perches on rearend have not been welded on yet because I like to get everything on the car with the weight distrubited before I set the pinion angle and permanently weld the perches . Now would be a perfect time to change to a different type rear suspension if that be the case , the hard work is already done with the wheel tubs . The sheetmetal replaced was the following : One piece full floorboard one piece full trunk pan Trunk dropoffs Toe boards DSE inner "wide Tub" wheelwells outer wheelwells rear full quarters taillight panel trunk lid rear valence rear package tray full roof panel front fenders w/extensions front inner wheelwells radiator support upper and lower front valences 2.5" cowl hood Dash face and top It wasn't that this car was a totally rusted out tub , I just wanted to replace everything that had ANY rust AT ALL ! The rocker panels were fine and were not replaced , the doors were on very good shape except for a couple of spots in the lower corners , I elected to fix them in light of the quality and issues that I've had with repro doors in the past . I have all glass for the car except for the wind shield ,I also have the complete interior , the seats need recovering but the door panels are in good shape .The firewall has been partiually smoothed/filled with a DSE filler panel , w/s wiper motor relocated to under d/s fender with modified transmission rods .Set up for Vintage Air in lieu of factory setup . I have a LQ4 6.0 rebuildable unassembled short block for the car , along with L92 rectangle port aluminum heads , all new coil packs , Camaro LS oil pan , modified to fit chassis , acc drive ect ... less the intake tract , . A good Turbo 400 , all installed into the chassis with BRP adapter mounts and a custom tubular transmission mount . The car has been meticulously constructed with attention to every detail , all gaps set up even , panels lined up ect... The construction was a year in the making , there is currently 0 filler on the body , so nothing is hidden you can see exactly what you would be getting . I have untold hours in this build who knows how much actual money , I am asking $12,500 for the whole package . There are tons of pics of the build here : http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b62/sheby2/68%20Camaro/ Here is the build thread on Team Camaro (camaros.net) : http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=121480 The terms are $500.00 within 24 hours of sale and remainder within 7 days . Guys I have been in the hobby for 30+ years , and have done several of these builds , I know what these cars are worth , with all that's done to this car and all that comes with it , this is a very reasonable price . I retain the option and right to end this auction at any time as I have the car for sale locally . Thanks and Happy Bidding !
