Ordered with all the right performance options this GT trimmed Fastback stands apart from the more common Mach 1's. GT's were only produced in the first few months of '69 production. They were outfitted with a base engine of a 351 or larger, Performance Suspension, Hood Scoop, Rocker Stripes, Styled Steel Wheels, Special GT Gas-Cap and Pin-Style Hood Locks. This GT is a great looking driver wearing its correct Acapulco Blue paint with White Rocker Stripes. The paint shows well with nice, straight panels and a good shine. This is not a show car but a good, clean driver. There are a couple of bubbles on the front of the driver's door and just behind the rear tires on the quarters, see pics. The frame rails, torque boxes and floors appear to be in good condition. At some point in this GT's life the upper cowl area on the passenger side was damaged. The apron where the hood hing attaches was replaced. It has been repaired and unless it was pointed out, is not easily noticed. The interior appears correct and is in good condition. The upholstery fits nice & tight. The carpet is in good condition and the dash is nice. Optioned from the factory with an In-Dash Tachometer. It still works excellent and always reminds you that this is a purpose built car. A tilt-column was added from another Ford and it works nicely. It looks like the stock unit and functions as factory. This GT was outfitted with the optional 320 Horsepower & 427ft/lb Torque 390 High Performance Engine. The engine was recently rebuilt with street-friendly performance parts including a performance camshaft (just a hint of lope at idle), Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Intake Manifold and Stan's Tri-Y Headers. The engine fire up easily, does not smoke and sounds very nice. There is just a hint of a lope to the idle and the exhaust note through the headers and dual exhaust has a nice, deep, Muscle Car note. The Factory-Equipped 4-Speed works nicely. This car still has its original shifter & linkage that still work but could use to be rebuilt or better yet replaced with a new Hurst Competition Plus shifter. Ford switched to these same Hurst units in 1970 as the standard shifter on all 4 speeds. The rear differential was ordered with a 9" 3.25 ratio Traction-Loc (Posi).
