This 1956 Buick Special Convertible is ready to go to someone who can give her the proper care. My age & health keep me from doing the things the car needs. This vehicle is mechanically sound & drives like a dream. Right now there is a transmission fluid leak that needs repair as well as what appears to be a power steering fluid leak. These are relatively minor repairs than I can no longer perform myself. The engine is the original 322 nail head V-8 and has the valves reworked to allow the use of unleaded gasoline. Most of the chrome work has been replated with the exception of the front & rear bumpers. The original AM radio has been overhauled & has the optional channel changer button on the floor. The interior is in fair condition except were the cat ripped the carpeting in the rear seat area ($199.00 for a new carpet). The car has been kept in a garage since I purchased it several years ago. I recently installed a new pump, cylinders & hydraulic lines for the convertible top. The top is in great shape including the plastic window. Being in Southern California, the top doesn't go up too often. The body needs some minor repairs and a repaint. I am asking $35,000.00 if I have to make the necessary repairs but am willing to negotiate a substantial reduction if she is sold "AS IS". The transmission fluid leak requires a "torque ball" overhaul which requires heavy work I cannot do & I would have to farm out (probably a $500-$800 job).
