Offered is a frame off, ground up restored 1931 Model A Ford slant windshield 4 door town sedan. It is painted, original colors: Copra Drab and Chickle Drab with Straw colored wheels and pinstripe. It has a LeBaron Bonney, Bedford Cord interior, in the original design. Excellent driver with a Mitchell overdrive installed for highway driving. The engine has been completely rebuilt. It was bored and sleeved back to standard piston size. It has stainless steel valves and hardened seats for modern gas and adjustable lifters. The bottom end of this engine is rock solid with a counter-weighted crank and modern inserted rod and main bearings (no more babbit to worry about). It has a high compression Snyder’s head. The distributor has been upgraded to a Petronix electronic ignition system inside the original distributor and cap. The water pump has modern bearings and seal and is the leakless style with a stainless steel shaft. It starts easy and runs very smooth. The clutch, transmission and differential are smooth chatter free and quiet…no bearing or gear noises. The brakes are the original mechanical style and have been completely rebuilt including new cast iron brake drums on all 4 wheels. It runs a 12 volt electrical system driven by an alternator. The headlights have been updated to modern Quartz Halogen bulbs in front and LED tail light bulbs in the back, for ultimate lighting and safety Accessories include: Dual Sidemounts with Metal Covers Locking radiator cap with Ford Motometer Turn Indicators Trunk Wrack (trunk included with car but not installed) Dual Tail Lights Dash Mounted Temperature gauge Wind Wings 2- Glass Bud/Flower Vases Full Rear Bumper Running Board Step Plates The previous owner of this car is now in a nursing home and has dementia, so I have no history of when it was restored or by whom. I pulled the head and the pan on the engine to inspect the condition and my mechanic estimates that it has been driven no more than 5,000 miles since the total rebuild. The undercarriage is clean and has clearly been properly restored. All glass windows have been replaced with safety plate glass. All stainless (Headlights, shell, tail lights etc.) have been recently professionally straightened and polished to a mirror finish. This car starts easy, runs smooth and drives straight and nice. It stops evenly. It cruises easily at 60 mph in overdrive. It runs cool on hot days, even when pulling a long grade. Slant windshield 4 door sedans are more spacious inside than the earlier straight windshield sedans. Comfortable, smooth and quiet inside while driving on the highway. This is an extra nice, rock solid, restored Model A Ford to drive safely and with reliably for your enjoyment. The body is straight annd nicely painted, but there is a small door ding in the passenger side rear door. I believe that it could be removed without damaging the paint, but I do not have th skills to do it, so I have not tried. I have a pint paint for each of the colors on the body for touch up. As stated in the accessories, I have a trunk that is painted to match the body that goes with the car...personally, I like the look of the wrack without the trunk so I have not installed it.
