Vehicle Detail
Clear Michigan title! Not a museum piece. For your consideration is a classic 1974 Suzuki GT380L Sebring. These are becoming very difficult to find. The tank and side covers have the original paint, there are a few scratches in the finish. As with any original 37 year old bike there are various scratches and some rust. This GT380 has the original exhaust with the baffles intact. There are NO holes or heavy rust on the exhaust. All the lights work correctly brake/tail, turn signals, high & low beam headlight, warning lights, gear indicator ( although part of the number no longer lights up). I think at some point the frame was refinished. The charging system works fine. The battery included is charged and seems to be holding a charge. I installed a NEW chain as the old one had a couple kinks in it. The top and sides of the seat are still in good shape, there are 2 splits in the material on the very bottom at the back on both sides. There is a dent in the front fender under the triple tree. The speedometer and tachometer work fine. The clutch engages and disengages as it should. The brakes seem to work good. The transmission shifts good. The inside of the fuel tank was lined and it is intact with NO peeling or cracking. One of the rear reflector lenses is missing as you can see in the picture. The key included works in all 3 locks, helmet/seat, fork, ignition switch. I got this GT380 from a gentleman who was getting out of the collecting/restoring hobby. I cleaned the carbs, rebuilt the petcock, set point gap and timing, changed transmission oil, changed spark plugs. The motor starts right up and I rode it about 2 miles up to 60mph. There is a ringing/ticking noise in the engine. I am not exactly sure what may be wrong with it as I am not very familiar with these old 2 strokes. It seems to handle RPM's fine and doesn't loose power. The bike starts and idles fine and responds to throttle input so I don't know where the noise is coming from.
