For sale, a 1955 Desoto Fireflite 4 - door sedan. This was my fathers car and he drove it where it is currently sitting but it has not moved in several years. He passed away in June and my mother has no need for it and no one in the family has any connection to the vehicle. He owned it for about 15 years and purchased it from a local car collector. I don't have much history on the vehicle other than what the local mechanic is telling me and what you see in the pictures. I believe it to be pretty much original and the body shows no signs of rust that i can see from a walk around the vehicle. It looks to be a 6 volt system with the original hemi V-8. I believe this is a 272 cubic inch V-8 hemi motor. The mechanic at the shop where the car is currently sitting says he is pretty sure the car will start but it will need work. I would consider this car a very good candidate for reconditioning as it is all there and the body seems to be very solid. I am selling this car for my mother and will answer all questions to the best of my ability but am not an expert on this car or older cars in general. We are selling the car as is and it must be picked up at its location. We will not ship this car.
