Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on eBay so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. Vehicles are available for test drives and inspections by appointment only at my York, PA storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Please take the time to read this entire description and review each photo in detail before placing a bid. I am not a mechanic but I strive to include as much detail as I can provide in order to represent each car I sell as accurately as possible to the best of my ability. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep Cherokee needs no introduction. It's reputation for rugged reliability preceeds it. I would rate the exterior condition of this Jeep to be BELOW AVERAGE. This Jeep has had only one owner its whole life...and it looks like he took it to work. There are numerous scratches, dents and flaws to the exterior. There is nothing major...just a lot of wear. The paint is a little thin on the hatch. The one piece of fender trim is cracked. There is a small spot of rust at the front of the left, rear door rocker panel. It's not through but it is visible. All of the lights and glass appear to be intact. The tires are in great shape all around and appear to be a matching set with evenly worn tread. While not the prettiest Jeep, this one does appear to be solid. I would also rate the interior condition of this Cherokee to be BELOW AVERAGE. Nothing is really broken...just a lot of wear like the outside. The carpets show several stains up front. I think they would come out with a little shampoo and an afternoon's worth of effort. The carpets are not worn out. The seats are not ripped or worn...just a little dirty like the rest of the truck. One nice thing is that this one appears to have the optional am/fm CD stereo. I don't get anything out of the front speakers but the rear sound bar does a good job. The rear hatch struts are pretty weak (about $30 on ebay). There is nothing fancy going on here...just a simple, basic Cherokee. Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good running condition. The 4.0L strait six starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine does not smoke and I didn't see any leaks. There were no warning lights on. Out on the road, this Jeep drove much better than I expected it to. The steering is nice and responsive. The suspsension is actually nice and tight all around (which is unusual for an older Jeep). The brakes stop the truck very well. It cruises smoothly with no shakes or rattles. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The 4WD system is tested and working properly.
