Vehicle Detail
We are offering at auction a 1956 Dodge Pick up truck equipped with a factory V8 engine and 3 speed manual column shift. We bought this truck out of Minnesota a couple years ago where it had sat in a shed unused for a lot of years. When it arrived the engine had plenty of oil and turned freely. We installed a new 6 volt battery and new cable ends installed new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and points, drained and acid flushed the gas tank which was very clean, replaced the gas and oil filter and added new oil and got it running relatively easily. The engine doesn't rap or knock but it smokes when first started then much less after it's run for awhile. The smoke never goes completely as can be seen in some of the pics because the truck was running during picture taking. In approximately 2 years we've driven the truck on short errands a total of less than 150 miles (yes the speedo and odometer work!)so maybe it'll improve with use-then again it could blow up and burst into flames.....anyhow right now the engine makes plenty of power-enough to spin the tires easily and push it down the road surprisingly well up to our tested top speed of 50mph.The clutch is strong, trans shifts right and the truck steers straight and stops well with no drama. We added a set of old Vette sidepipes-it's real dual exhaust and has a very cool mellow rumble. We added new front shocks a NOS steering drag link and 16" radials with excellent tread and PAINTED wide whitewalls mounted on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee wheels painted with a custom mix base coat to "match" the old Dodge paint. The frame on the truck is solid as a rock with no excuses. We had a local very fussy and talented metal fabricator/welder take care of the few areas needing attention on the cab floor, weld in some lateral reinforcements in the bed and add a killer roll pan in the rear.....some random facts......as mentioned the speedo-odom work, all the guages work, horn did now doesn't,no lights or wipers-never looked into-didn't care, spot light is just for show, doors and hood(both sides) close nice and the windows rollup and down.We monitor our auctions very closely and boot and block anyone with zero or questionable feedback. We answer reasonable questions quickly and honestly. We're happy to give serious people a phone # and a complete walk around or make our vehicle available for inspection ALL BEFORE the END of the auction.Thank you!
