Vehicle Detail
I have way too many projects and not nearly enough time or money... I bought this 1937 Chevy a couple of years ago hoping to put together a low budget rat rod. I bought the car with a bill of sale only and have not tried to obtain a title. I will sell the car with a bill of sale and a copy of the bill of sale that I received. The car was in a barn for several years. I bought the car and found that the motor was full of water. I had no desire to rebuild a splash oiled motor so I bought a "full pressure" oiled straight six out of a 1951 Chevy. I also tracked down a 5 speed out of an S-10. The motor should bolt into the car using the mounts off the 37 and the transmission can be bolted to the 51 engine with an adapter plate. The transmission has a low first gear and a nice overdrive (.7 if I remember right). I also have the rear and and driveshaft out of the S-10 that will go with the car. The body is in pretty impressive shape and I tried to take as many pictures as I could. Let me know if there is something in particular that you cannot see and want a photo of. There is minimal rust through other than the floor pans in the passenger compartment. There is one spot on the cowl near the middle of the windshield. The rest of the car is covered in a nice patina. I was planning to replace the glass and leave the body as it was. There is one spot with damage on the back driver's side corner under the trunk. I took close up photos to try to show it. There are minor imperfections in other places, but mostly limited to the bottom corners of the back fenders. I have lots of parts (heater, NOS radiator, bolt on fog lights) and it has some pretty cool parts in it that I suspect are original (Truetone radio, bucket seats). I have the transmission and bell housing from the S-10, the 37, and the 51. You are welcome to all the parts that I have for the car. The car is missing the grill shell. I would prefer a local sale (Austin, Texas) just because I think shipping the car with all the parts would be very difficult. I have broken the rear brake drums loose so the car can be rolled on and off of a trailer pretty easily. If you are outside of Texas and REALLY want to find a way to buy this car, contact me and we will see what we can figure out. There is NO RESERVE. This car is going to sell to someone! On Jan-02-12 at 08:13:42 PST, seller added the following information: For those who missed it in the original listing, I am a few minutes outside AUSTIN, TEXAS.I put up more photos since I realized there were not any good pictures of the floorpans.
