Vehicle Detail

68 Ford Fairlane 500, Original early (pre-standard) 302 motor, estimated HP, (280). Edelbrock 4-barrel, Weiand Stealth manifold, flame thrower coil, no points ignition, new timing chain, tires, brakes, radiator, wheel bearings, etc. Runs very strong with incredible sound, silicon bronze welded dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40s, headers, full sub-frame connectors, Red Neck Performance transmission was dyno run at 700 HP. This car is about 280 HP. C-4, full manual-shift, automatic (no clutch but manual only shifting), 0-decompression 1st gear, Reverse manual valve body, big servos, disabled trans-brake, daily driver torque converter, rebuilt 8-1/2 geared rear (need to check ratio) Good highway/performance combo. New tires, brakes, tune up parts. This is a daily driver with a full race transmission. Non-smoker owned and meticulously maintained. Not a show car (2nd place trophy years back) or race car. Outstandingly dependable and a blast to drive. Has been to Canada a couple of times. Car was fully stripped, sealed, primed and painted. Temperature and sound proofing on all floors and in trunk. Under hood, in scoop, and in trunk lighting, Pioneer speakers, AM-FM CD, aluminum plate between speakers says "GT 500 KR4", no air conditioning. Krager wheels, BF Goodrich tires. Car has a shiny finish with some fade, minor blemishes, and body line misalignment which are shown in the photos. Two small checks next to hood key lock not visible in pictures, minor usual road wear, again this is a daily driver. Blemishes are small as shown in photos. Aluminum louvered panel shown has a speck of road grime in louver, not a blemish. The Passenger side aluminum louver panel, I have. It has an upward bend from the bottom on both ends and can go back on and look decent. Windshield front trim is off and must be bonded in place because the front windshield was replaced and installers did not install the chrome edging mounting studs! Window trim is in excellent shape. Great looking car. Mileage reads 85,000, actual mileage is less due to tire size and gearing changes, and as such speedometer reads fast. Estimated actual mileage, 66,000. Heater works with no leaks, has cable break (for air diversion) which can be replaced with manual carburetor choke cable or simply operated on box. Rear windows are solid and do not roll down and cannot be made to do so. Seats are reupholstered, headliner is replaced. Minor flaws. All glass is excellent with exception of some small scratches on driver side rear. Front driving lights are wired but not hooked up to normal low beam circuit due to change made in removing console previously in order to install the awesome Hurst quarter stick floor shifter. Rear carpet and trunk carpet are just laid in place. Interior seats look excellent. There is some wear and compression of the driver seat. Possibly some minor items I am overlooking, I think I have captured any significant flaws. Car is worth more than starting bid in parts. Runs, drives, handles very well. Sound of car is incredible! Please call only if you have cash to purchase. Too busy to offer joy rides. Sold as is. Vehicle is for sale locally by other means and as such, I retain the rights to end the ebay sale at any time.
