1966 Buick “Gran Sport” Convertible HISTORY: I purchased this vehicle from “Golden Classic’s”in Clearwater, Florida in the Fall of 2006. This car was actually purchased “brand new” in Clearwater, lived its life in this area until late 90’s, when it was totally reconditioned in Michigan where it spent little time before, ironically, ending up back in Clearwater, Florida at “Golden Classics” – prior to my purchase. I have a very extensive book made up of “Protect-o-Plate”, receipts showing purchases, work, etc., on the vehicle. Also have 1 gallon of original paint. After the renovation, the odometer was set back to 0.0, which is a common occurrence. Therefore, the actual mileage is unknown. There is less than 4000 miles on the odometer today; I have put on LESS THAN “400” ACTUAL MILES ON SINCE MY PURCHASE IN 2006. Please check into the production numbers for this Factory 4-Speed vehicle – you will be amazed how rare and valuable it is. DESCRIPTION: Body off Restoration of a Rust free Southern GS that is Gorgeous in every way and under 4000 miles since completion. Tired of looking at Camaro’s, Chevelle’s, Mustang’s and other largely produced cars, look at the pictures and then you may want to bid on a very rare Muscle Car that is quality and less money than those others, plus win some awards while you’re at it. Body is laser straight, Paint is quality and has a Mirror Finish, the factory would be jealous!! Excellent Chrome, Trim, Grille, Bumpers, Glass and Interior. Bottom of the car is Painted in Satin Black, new 4-wheel disc brakes (rotors, pads and calipers), new gas shocks, front end parts, solid aluminum rear control arm, Hotchkis tubular lower front A Frames and huge Sway Bar, Springs, All new Urethane Body Bushings and Stabilizer kits – it sits real nice. Exhaust is 3” Mandrel-Bent with Super Turbo Muffler, “Ported” factory Exhaust Manifolds – All with “High Temp” Aluminized paint – 100% Professional. New Gas Tank, Straps and 3/8” Fuel Lines. Body looks to be all Original Sheet metal, all factory pinch welds are visible, jams look factory, its quality everywhere you look. The engine has been upgraded to a 1970 #738 Block, 455 with Factory Stage 1 Intake, Cam, Holley Double Pump 850 CFM (I believe) and makes plenty of Horsepower, Muncie 4-Speed, 12 Bolt Posi Rear with 3:55 Gears. Optioned with Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Power Windows, Power Drivers Seat, Power Top with Boot, Buckets, Console with Factory Tach, added Mechanical Gauges, Tinted Glass, Factory Remote Trunk Release, Drivers Remote Mirror, Tilt Steering, Buick Floor Mats, Trunk Light, Factory AM/FM Radio and Factory Rear Speaker. Wheels are 17” Torque Thrust by Boyd Coddington with directional Radial Tires. Never worry about over heating in traffic, done right this car has the big aluminum radiator, with (2) auxiliary electric cooling fans in front and Aluminum Flex Fan on Engine will keep it cool in any outside temperature. This is one of the nicest Buicks around, high end quality, trim polished, chrome bezels – new, the smallest items working, everything finished excellent, not a rattle, noise, exhaust leak, just hours of quality workmanship done on a car that was beautiful original before it was nut and bolt taken apart, so don’t attempt to duplicate anything to this caliber for the price you’re going to pay, and if you miss this – you’re going to miss a good one; a Very rare build. Go ahead, Win Shows and have a Blast driving and it’s a lot of car for not a lot of money compared to Chevelle’s and Camaro’s that bring in the upper $40’s and into $50’s, so get a Muscle car that is rare, an investment and a car you can be proud of. I know I am. Beautifully restored, absolutely runs, drives and performs wonderful, everything works, it needs nothing other than a fine new home. This car has been in a Climate Controlled Garage constantly and never parked anywhere unattended. I have also collected “nearly” all the Original Factory Air Conditioning parts, Dash, Vents, Ducting, Switches, Louvers, Air Box, Pulleys and Brackets, even partial firewall, etc… I have spent approx $2000 for these parts that will be included. In total we have well over $40k in this vehicle, it’s “1 out 500 car” restoration quality, and it needs to go to someone who appreciates this model.
