Vehicle Detail
1973 Pontiac Grand-Am with 400ci & 4-Speed 1 of 187 Built! See all the pictures below the description! This 1973 Grand-AM is about as original and well documented as you could ask for. The window sticker says the car was delivered to Courtesy Pontiac-Buick in Coos Bay, Oregon. The sticker price was $5180.50 and there was a loan originated for this car on 02/15/1973 for the amount of $4262.40. This car has been stored since 1991 and has only been driven about 200 miles since that time. A folder is included with the car that contains dozens of receipts, registrations and insurance info as well as the window sticker, emissions manual, owner's manual, etc. You can see through the paper trail that this car truely has only 52,116 miles. The Engine block and transmission both match the car's vin. See the pictures! The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed which works as it should. The engine is in good operating condition. See the YouTube video at the bottom of the page. The engine suffix code "WK" was used in 1973 for a 400ci with a 4-barrel and 4-speed transmission. The 1999 receipt for the engine rebuild was written up as a short block rebuild with a special note "MUST USE OWN CORES". The heads are "16" castings which are good performers, but not correct for the car. The carburetor works, but will need cleaned to run it's best and is not the original. Some of the options on the window sticker are: Soft Ray Glass, Remote deck lid, Air Conditioning, Accent Stripes, Safety Track (POSI) Differential, Rally II Wheels, Firm Ride Package. I believe, but can't be 100% sure, the "Firm Ride" package included computer selected springs, firmer shocks, taller front spindles that were borrowed from the F-body, and 1.125 front and .94 rear stabilizer bars. The interior looks to be original. The seats are in good shape, but will need recovered. The 4-speed console is still present. See all the pictures. The body seems pretty solid except the noted area above the passenger rear side window. The quarters look/feel good. The floor pans and trunk pan look extremely good. The paint is laquer checking pretty heavily. The endura nose will need replaced or repaired. See the pictures of the extra nose and grille pieces. The a/c compressor is not present. A good source for first generation Grand-Am parts is http://www.motorealm.com/ga-home.html This car came with the standard hood, which is on it, but I have a NACA/NASA "Ram-Air" hood also available, it is listed on Ebay right now. These cars could have received a NACA hood as an option. If you want that hood for this car I suggest bidding on it now since they DON'T COME UP OFTEN! See my other auctions. Hood is Ebay item number: 170751372827 This is a VERY rare car and will make an excellent candidate for restoration, and yes, it does need restored. This is a nearly 40 year old UNRESTORED car so be prepared to address all aspects of a typical restoration. This vehicle is sold in as-is/where-is condition. No warranty or guarantees expressed or implied. It is the buyer's responsibility to verify any critical information, such as production numbers and originality of the car. The buyer is responsible for shipping/transporting of the vehicle. The car has a clear Washington state title which is still in the previous owner's name and signed off. There is a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due within 48 hours of the auction's ending. The remaining balance is due within 10 days or at the time of pick-up. This car will not be released to the buyer or a transport company until full payment has been made. Cash is preferred but wire transfer is also acceptable. The vehicle should be picked up within 10 days of the auction's end unless other arrangements have been made with me. I am not responsible for any damage due to loading or transport. I reserve the right to end the auction if this car sells locally. Any Questions? Please ask!!! REMEMBER, THIS AUCTION ENDS NEW YEARS DAY! 01/01/2012 AT 6:15pm Pacific Time MARK YOUR NEW CALENDAR AND SET YOUR CELL PHONE ALARM! On Dec-23-11 at 10:41:16 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked if I will sell this car to Canada, YES!
