Hello collectors of the Unusual, the Rare, & Micro cars, Here is a real beauty- an extremely RARE 1959-1960 BMW 600 Isetta Limousine. I bought it a couple of years ago from a fellow in California; it was driven on & off of the truck and still runs well today- I have only driven it around the block twice just for fun- mostly I bought as a true conversation piece! EVERYBODY stops to look at this car when I have it out of my garage! You will never find a car that gets more attention then when you open the front door on this bubble car; you will get more looks than a million dollar Duesenburg or any Ferrari! After arrival I sent the car to an old mechanic to have him do whatever he deemed necessary- I have a list which I will give to new owner- for example all the brakes were done, full tune-up, carb rebuild (sent to Bing for rebuild);better tires(includes the second set or tires as well as other spare parts) and spare tire cover for front door as shown in photos;etc. Back seat folds down if you have alot of groceries! There is almost always more things to do as with all vintage cars, but you will not likely find a nicer one of these-I have been browsing for years. I have seen these 2dr 600 Limo's sell at auction for $40,000-$50,000 when beatiful and nearly perfect, I am a realist and don't time or patience tosent it off to Mecum, Bonhams, or Barrett-Jackson auctions- but it could be sent, it is special enough and just about clean enough for those auctions. My reserve is about HALF the price,in order to make sure it sells now, this is the 1st time that I am offering it for sale- right in time for Xmas and it can fit UNDER the Xmas tree! As beautiful as it is, I am selling it AS IS WHERE IS-PLEASE DO come to see it in person or send a representative (if possible) PLEASE do ask questions and see all 38 large clear photos. I have been an ebayer for over 10 years. I have more than 1200+ positive feedback, 100% positive= so you can buy with some confidence that I am AOK to deal with. CLEAR & OPEN TITLE (Titled as 1960 BMW 600) although I suppose it is a late 1959 since I think that they were only made from 1957-1959+; I believe just 2 1/2 years. The mileage is also listed on the title as 11,386 and I am sure it doesn't have many more since then. This bubble car is VERY RARE, more rare and valuable then the BMW Isetta 300 & 250 because very few were made and VERY FEW survive today. It is actually called a BMW 600 "Limousine" which everyone finds a funny concept (it is considered a Limo by BMW because it has 2 doors-probably the world's tiniest Limo!) Also strange to think of that weird front opening contraption as a "door" as it seems more like a front wall that you pull towards you. It is certainly the strangest sensation to sit in there and pull the whole front of the car including the dashboard, steering wheel, windshield all towards you and then turn the latch and drive away. VERY STRANGE! But that is what makes it so special. A great car for a car museum or put it in your living room and open the front door as a couch to watch "drive in movies" in your living room! The possibilities for fun are endless! It "supposedly" can go up to 65mph (probably just downhill) and gets about 50mpg. The engine compartment is very clean. All lights and guages work. Comes WITH owners manual, shop manual, parts book, and other ephemera, spare parts, and the car cover. Please email with ANY questions.
