Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 1995 Dodge Ram SLT 1500 4x4. I don't get a lot of trucks so this is a bit of an unusual buy for me...but I needed to move a trailer so I had to buy a truck, haha. I am a big fan of Dodge trucks. I've always been a Ford guy but I've been very happy with every Ram I've ever had. This one is no different. I would rate the exterior condition of this Ram to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. As you can see, this is a great looking truck. It is finished in a dark green which looks great from any angle. Additionally, this truck is equipped with fiberglass running boards and fender flares. The paint is chipping a little on the roof which is common. Otherwise, there are remarkably few blemishes on the exterior of this truck. Even the bed is in decent condition for the age of the truck. The rear bumper has some rust under the tape and a tiny bit under the passengers door which is common for Rams. I did not see any ither rust on the actual body of the truck. The American Racing wheels compliment the custom look of this Ram. The tires are average all around and should have another few years in them depending on your state laws. There is a hitch at the rear for towing, too. All of the glass and lenses are in tact. I would rate the interior of this Ram to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition, also. The door panels are both clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and show minimal wear. The seats are clean and comfortable and come with the HUGE center arm rest/stuff holder. You can even fit a laptop in the arm rest with room to spare. Behind the seats is more storage room with an organizer behind the drivers seat. Being an SLT, this Ram is equipped with power windows, locks and mirrors...all are working properly. The stereo is the original factory unit which sounds good. This truck is equipped with air conditioning, too. It hasn't been out of the 30's since I've gotten the truck but the compressor does turn. The heater works great. Pride in ownership shows throughout this truck. Mechanically, this Dodge appears to be in good running condition. The 5.2L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I saw no smoke or leaks coming from the engine. The suspension is nice and tight. The steering is light and responsive. The brakes stop the truck well. Out on the road, she drives pretty well. At highway speeds, you can notice a vibration in the front end...but it doesn't pull. My guess would be a tire out of balance or maybe an issue with one of the front tires. I didn't see anything obviously wrong but a good front end guy would be a better judge than I am. Under 60, she is very smooth. The engine keeps a nice, cool temperature and the oil pressure is great. There were no warning lights on. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. Overall, this appears to be a good, solid truck that has been very well taken care of.
