Vehicles are available for inspection by appointment only at my York, PA storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Please take the time to read this entire description carefully before you bid. This includes reviewing the photos, too...they are part of the description. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1998 Volvo V70. I would rate the exterior condition of this Volvo to be in AVERAGE condition for the age and miles of the vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking car. The buyer of a used vehicle rated "AVERAGE" should expect to find minor signs of wear around the vehicle, including scuffs and scratches on the bumpers from normal use. This V70 is equipped with factory alloy wheels which look great and are wrapped in good tires all around. Being a turbo wagon, this example has the optional rear spoiler for an aggressive look. The windshield has a crack along the top right. It is above the AS1 line and is not an inspection issue for PA but please check with your local laws before bidding. It terminates at the edge of the glass on each end (not into the center) so it shouldn't spread. All of the other glass and lenses are in tact. I would rate the interior of this Volvo to be in AVERAGE condition also. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets show some stains from normal use but no excessive wear. The leather seats are in good condition, too. This V70 has the optional 3rd row seating which is rare in later wagons. She comes with a full set of manuals and was a local car to York, PA for years. This car is equipped with the winter package which gives you headlamp washers and heated seats. The stereo system is the original Volvo Premium Sound with cassette and CD which sounds great. The climate control is fully automatic with different settings for driver and passenger. The climate control system is in perfect working condition and the air conditioner blows ice cold air. The drivers window is missing a clip so it doesn't go down and up strait. This is a very well optioned V70 for your consideration. Please read this paragraph thoroughly... Mechanically, this Volvo is in good running condition although there are some things you'll need to take into account. First, this Volvo is FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. Like most AWD V70's, the rear end developed problems at some point. The most common fix for this is to remove the rear drive shaft...making it front wheel drive. Running an AWD Volvo as FWD has NO negative long term consequences to the transmission. You can drive this car as it is for as long as you want. Because of how they're built, Volvo is one of the only vehicles you can do this with. The 2.4L Turbocharged inline 5 starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine has a moderate oil leak which is common with this engine and can be fixed inexpensively (front seal most likely). I've been monitoring the oil level and it doesn't use much. The ABS/TRACS light is on...also common with Volvo's and is not an expensive fix if you choose to do so. The suspension is pretty tight and the steering is light and responsive. There is a vibration in the front end which is noticable at highway speeds and under braking. The brakes stop the car very well. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts perfectly.
