Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4. The Toyota 4Runner is and has been one of the most rugged, reliable and well built SUV's on the market since its introduction. I have bought and sold several as well as owned several personally...my mom even drives a 4Runner. This example is in very good condition for the year and has relatively low miles. I would rate the exterior condition of this 4Runner as ABOVE AVERAGE. The dark green finish has a deep shine and looks good from any angle. There are a few thin spots on the hood but nothing horrible as well as a few minor blemishes on the front bumper. The body is free of any major dents or scratches. Please review each photo closely. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The alloy wheels look good and are wrapped in good rubber. This 4Runner is equipped with a factory towing hitch, too. The factory fender flares give this truck a rugged, aggressive appearance. I would rate the interior of this 4Runner also to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets show well for the age of the vehicle, too. The headliner is clean and in tact. The seats show well for their age and are not ripped or torn. The cargo area is spacious, clean and comes with the original retracting cargo cover. This truck is equipped with power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof...all of which are in proper working condition. The stereo system is factory original and sounds good. The climate control system appears to be in proper working condition. Additionally, this 4Runner is equipped with the factory Toyota security system with remote entry which is also working properly. Mechanically, this truck appears to be in good running condition. The 3.4L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any smoke or leaks coming from the engine of this truck. During my road test, this 4Runner displayed excellent road manners. The suspension is nice and tight as it should be. The steering is light and responsive, too. The brakes stop the truck with no issues. Out on the highway, this truck cruises very well and shows no pulling or vibrations. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. Having owned several, I can personally attest to how good these trucks are in the snow.
