Happy Holidays I have for sale a 1981 Rolls Royce Spirit that has over 100,000 miles on it. The Spirit is the personal size Rolls with the shorter wheelbase unlike its twin which has difficulty in some parking situations. This vehicle has been in our family over 20 years and it is currently being stored in Marina del Rey California. This vehicle has many pluses not found on others of the same year. It has custom Mahogany door inserts, a center console, and has been serviced at Tony Handler Rolls in west LA over our ownership. The packing as you may notice is the popular Black with cashmere interior with black piping. The front seats as well as the back are starting to check as well as the complete car needs TLC as to both mechanics and detaining. Over the last 10 years it has only been used as a second car in the Marina at our boat location. You cannot let a vehicle as such setup for years as when it is started it will release a amount of white exhaust for 15 seconds and then run clear and clean. On occasion this will reoccur, I do not know why. The vehicle is currently registered and we are in Atlanta and find no need to have it there without getting any use out of it. If you are looking for a sleeper, that you could put a few grand in and have a vehicle for life....this is it. As far as I know this is a California Car and has always been. The vehicle is located in Marina Del Rey California zip 90292. It has no major dents, one small 1/2 inch ding on left side of fender(like someone pressed their thumb in). It had a small trickle leak and was sent to Tony Handler and he referred me to Santa Monica service whom repaired the leak($450.00) yesterday. We paid the registration for 2012 this week and it is not due till 2013. Questions on the consule, it was installed and made from a custom import vendor in California as well as the Mahogony door inserts. The vehicle is over 30 years old and I would want to tweak it around town before putting it on the road to Las Vegas or such. The license number is 2YTW018 with California plates, no special designation. The tires have good tread but show signs of checking from not being used. The trunk carpet is crumply from the inferior material that the original owner had installed. The windows all go up and down , but the right sides are slower than the left side. It has a mahogony burl CD in the dash unit that matches the burl wood on the dash. Brakes and engine run great, except on occasion a small amount of clean smoke will come out(maybe this was from the tranny) it might be resolved now. There is a small tint, but legal, on the rear glass as well as the rear window. New headliner. The front seats as well as the rear seats are starting to check, with the sheepskins it is not noticable, but if you wanted pristine, you will need a new leather job only. The actual mileage is 122074, but I would think it is at least 1000 miles more as the speedometer works all the time but sometimes the odometer does not. One gentleman, John, was looking for a frameoff type of restoration, I recommended he not purchase this one as it is more a driver type than a showpiece.
