Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is this 1986 Honda TRX250R. This machine has been ridden, but is in good shape. I bought this thinking I would ride it quite a bit, but I'm more of a three-wheel guy than a four-wheel guy. The person I got this from was the son of the original owner. Right after he got it from his Dad, he rebuilt the top end and on the second ride the bottom froze so he had both the top and bottom ends rebuilt. This was about 2 years ago and the machine has maybe 6 rides on it since then. At the same time the engine was done, all 3 shocks were rebuilt. I don't have the paperwork for any of this work, but I believe that it was done. The person I bought it from was in the middle of downsizing when I bought it and had no idea where the paperwork was, but after seeing how meticulous everything he owned was I don't doubt that the work was done. That and the fact that the motor is tight and runs very good with no knocks or glitches. As you can see in the pictures, the bike was kept up and washed after every ride. It hadn't been started in over a year, but was stored with fuel stabilizer and it fired up on the fourth kick. The quad has an FMF Gold Series Fatty pipe on it and an FMF muffler. It has a set of TAG bars on it with risers to make it more comfortable for a taller rider. All of the rims have been swapped for aftermarket rims. The front tires are about 50% tread and the backs are probably 75% tread. There is a set of nerf bars on it. It has V-Force reeds in it. I'm sure there are more aftermarket components, but I don't recall what they are. I'm tired of moving this around the garage and its time for it to go to someone who will use it more than I do. I have more pictures that I can send. If you send me your email address, I will be happy to forward more pictures. If you would like pictures of specific items or areas of the quad, please let me know. The quad is ready to ride today, but there are few things that could be improved on it. The rear fenders were cut by the previous owner. He rode mostly at the dunes and liked the 'duner' look. I don't care for them, but I didn't ride it enough to worry about it. On one of the nerf bars, the threads that hold the webbing together have come loose. Some zip ties were used secure the webbing back onto itself. The seat cover has a minor hole in it, but some type of clear sealant was put over the hole to keep the cover from ripping more. The top mount for the headlight was lost or never put back on. It looks like when the handle bar clamps were raised that there needed to be some sort of top mount made and that was never done. Right now there are zip ties that support the top of the light but they don't do a very good job and the light bounces around somewhat. I didn't ride it after dark so I never worried about it. Other than that, there are normal wear and tear marks on the machine. It is in good shape for 25 years old, but it has been ridden. The machine was last registered in Colorado in 2009. Colorado does not issue titles for OHV's so no title is available. I will be happy to issue a bill of sale to the buyer. The machine is located about 20 minutes northwest of downtown Denver, CO and is 5 minutes off of I-70. I don't have a way to crate it and I can't deliver. I have used a shipping service in the past that picks up at the front door, straps the machine to a pallet and then delivers it to the buyer. I don't remember what it costs, but I can dig the name up if it would be helpful. I can store the quad for two weeks after it sells but not any longer. The machine is being sold as is. I don't want anyone to be dissapointed and I've tried to describe the flaws in the bike that I am aware of. I haven't ridden this machine much but it has been reliable for me. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have or provide additional pictures. Please contact me through eBay with any questions or if you would like to see the bike. I can provide my phone number to those who are interested. I've set this auction up as a buy it now with a non-refundable Paypal deposit of $200 due within 24 hours. I've had a bad experience or two in the past with non-paying bidders. I will consider other payment options, but I will not sell it without a down-payment through Paypal. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks for looking at this great quad and feel free to contact me with any questions.
