Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car in 1998 from the ex-wife of a friend of mine. As part of their divorce, he had to provide her with a running vehicle. The original engine had recently spun a rod bearing, so he installed the freshly rebuilt 350 SBC and transmission that was supposed to go in his '79 Camaro. I finished the install and, after driving it around for a couple of months, ended up selling him back his engine and transmission and purchasing an Olds 260 V-8 and trans for it but life got in the way and the car has been parked for years. The car ran and drove great, but that engine belonged in his Camaro. The original engine was an Olds 350 with an automatic, but it is currently set up for the SBC. He removed the A/C compressor when he swapped engines and plugged the lines under the hood with plastic caps. I do not have the compressor. The dash pad is cracked and some of the plastic interior parts have started to rot but nothing that can't be saved. The door panels are actually in pretty good shape. The material on the seating area of the front seat has worn out and the material from the headliner had fallen down and been removed before I got the car. The headliner back is still in the car. The windshield is cracked but all other glass is good. When I parked the car, the power windows and seats still worked great. I have another set of same color seats from an '82 Caprice 4 dr. that I was given with the car and will pass along to the buyer. The car has all of the original wheels with caps and trim rings. Every part that was removed wihen pulling the engine is included in the sale EXCEPT FOR THE ENGINE, TRANS, AND AFOREMENTIONED COMPRESSOR. The driveshaft, trans crossmember, fender braces, etc. are all in the trunk. This is a very straight car if you are into full-size rear-drives. There are a couple of minor dents on the passenger rear fender and a couple of small rust spots in the top of the pass. door and above it that I have included in the pics. There are also a couple of pics of places where the paint was rubbed off from a low hanging tree branch. The only rust I didn't get a pic of is a little starting in the passenger side floor pan just above where the catalytic converter hangs. I was told this is from the constant heating and cooling from the converter. This car will have to be trailered or towed and I would like to have it removed within 14 days from the close of the auction. I have a clear Kansas title in my name that I will give to the buyer when you come get the car. Thanks. * I clicked the History report button after I listed this and it says they are unable to find a listing for this vehicle. The VIN. is correct but it hasn't been tagged for over 10 years. Maybe the history report just doesn't go back that far.
