This 1999 Grand Marquis was purchased as a used vehicle in 2003 from a dealership and used as a family vehicle primarily for local driving by nonsmokers. The engine and transmission are mechanically sound. The vehicle body and paint are in good condition other than the usual share of dings and scratches. The upholstery and carpets are in good conditon. All of the interior accessories are working. Below, I list several problems with the vehicle. MECHANICAL PROBLEMS A dull rattling / thumping sound, which emanates from the rear of the vehicle, is produced whenever the vehicle travels over uneven surfaces. I presume that this noise is being generated by rear suspension components. I have not had this problem diagnosed by a repair shop. There is a leak of antifreeze from the intake manifold gasket. Please refer to the photos for a close-up view of the leak. The white residue is from two applications of Prestone granulated leak sealer. This seems to have slowed the leak to a very low rate, but you may have to address this problem in the future. The keyless entry keypad, found on the drivers-side door, is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. COSMETIC DAMAGE The most signifcant damage, shown in a photo, is a scratched area just above the rear passenger tire. There's a small dent in the roof, and some minor dents in the trunk. None of these are noticeable, unless you're scrutinizing the vehicle. There's a tiny rust spot over the left driver-side tire. There's the typical accumulation of scratches on both bumpers. The right turn nighttime illumination lamp lens has a few small cracks. The headlamp lenses have become translucent, as you can see in the photos. I've not noticed any impact on nighttime visibility. I've made my best effort to fully disclose all issues to the extent of my knowledge.
