Up for Auction is a 1930 Chrysler Series 66 Royal Sedan. All proceeds of this auction are going to benefit two local Museums. The proceeds will benefit the Kern County Museum and the Minter Field Air Museum equally. Both Museums are Non Profit Organizations. Now the car is in great condition, especially for it being 81 years old. It is an older restoration with hand pin striping. Before auction we had our mechanic go through the vehicle. We put on new tires and tubes. Rebuilt the master cylinder and all four wheel cylinders. We took off the water jacket covers and manufactured new cover plates but bolted the original covers on top of the new plates we made so everything original is still there, but now with covers that will last another 100 years. Put a new floor in the battery compartment and installed a brand new battery. We had the radiator gone through and flushed. Put on a new electric fuel pump and fuel regulator. Serviced all the fluids and changed hoses. Rebuilt the original radiator cap so it fits and functions as it should. We tuned up the motor and fixed anything we could find to make her run like she should. The car fires right up and runs like a sewing machine. The body is in great shape and so is the paint. We had the car detailed after it was all fixed up and the detailer touched up any paint chips. 3 speed transmission works fine. This car is road ready. It has original spoked wheels and original hubcaps even on both spares and beauty rings. The front deflector windows have etched glass designs. Mohair interior is in great shape. This car even has a period correct flashlight and bracket that are attached to the steering column and the high tech outside temperature gauge built in to the top of the driver's side rear view mirror. Car was appraised 10/17/2011 and the appraisal states: Interior Condition: Above Average, Interior Type: Reupholstered, Interior Material: Mohair, Floor Covering: Vinyl, Restoration Completeness: 75% (choices are 20%, 50%, 75%, 100% so it is between 75% and 100%), Restoration Quality: Above Average (again there are only below average, average, above average choices), Restoration Type: Body Off, Body Customization: none, Paint Condition: Above Average, Paint Graphics: Yes (pin striping), Paint Type: Single Stage. It also states that the NADA Guide Fall 2011 was used to help determine the value of the vehicle. The current owner has had the car for 18 years. The car comes with a clear California title and bill of sale, receipt, whatever else you need. It has been Planned Non Operation for the last 6 years of registration. The reserve on the auction is more than 40% lower than the 3rd party Appraisal that was performed about 1 month ago. Winning bidder needs to send $500 through PayPal within 24 hours of auction end and the rest by Cashiers Check made payable to the Kern County Museum within 7 days of Auction end.
