Vehicle Detail
1976 Triumph TR6. July ’76 build date! This is a very late production July 1976 Triumph TR6 with 66,654 miles. Based on some research that I have done, this car seems to be the 348th to last one produced. I purchased the car from a collector 1.5 years ago. He had 28 TR6”s, a couple TVR’s. He was a restorer, and enthusiast from England who had been into TR’s since the late 60’s and knew these cars in and out. The car had just received a new, proper style laquer paint job after having any minor problem areas on the body addressed properly.. . It’s a very good paint job with some minor imperfections, most I believe could be addressed with a proper compound and wax that I do not think the car received after paint. It is an awesome color, one of the best on these cars. Car was restored mechanically, and runs beautifully.. Both carbs were rebuilt. New clutch New full exhaust. All new brakes, and lines. Cleaned fuel tank. New NOS correct top with reflective strip. Redline tires with 90% tread and no dry rot. Car has approx 66k original miles. Certified welder replaced the common problem area on these cars by the rear suspension area on the frame (both sides) with correct stamped parts from England. No rust or rot. New OEM floors . Restuffed seats. Newer carpet kit. New door gasket kit New dash New tunnel for over the trans (between the (2) seats). New NOS waterpump Rebuilt original starter I bought the car because of how wonderfully it ran, and how little work it needed to be completed. Car is a 4spd, no overdrive. One month after purchasing the car, we got pregnant with our 2nd baby, and I never got around to the minor cosmetic finishing that the car needs- seats to be bolted in (all hardware here), side mirrors re mounted(included), dash to be final mounted (all gauges were working when I swapped), carpet to be installed, door cards, new water pump to be mounted (minor leak from the gasket now until warm. Could just need a gasket, but I bought an NOS Triumph Water Pump too just in case.), brakes bled. Car is mechanically 100% once the water pump is replaced. Runs beautifully. The car has been stored in a garage with a cover on it. In the pictures, it appears that the rear camber not correct on the rear tires, but it only looks like that because the rear of the car was on jack stands for about a month while the frame parts were replaced. All the shims were counted prior to removing the wheels, and re installed properly. This will correct itself after a few miles on the road. The reserve is set very reasonably considering the condition of the body, mechanics, and July ’76 build date. I never got to enjoy this car and need to move on for the garage space, and because this car should be enjoyed, not sit. This is an EASY winter project that will yield a solid, great car with appreciating value. The title is still in the previous owners name as I never got to the point of getting the car registered and on the road. I am a private seller, not a dealer. My name is Dan. Thank you and good luck! Car located in NJ- 07980 Car will need to be flat bedded or shipped. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. $500 deposit required immediately after end of auction with paypal. Full payment due within 3 days, and prior to the car being released. . Seller reserves the right to end the auction early. On Nov-21-11 at 14:05:53 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked a couple of times regarding the condition of the Triumph before the paint job. The car was not a typical rust bucket by any means. I believe that the passenger door was rusty ,and was replaced with a clean used one. Any other issues were minor. The front clip is clean, and there are no signs to me of this car ever being in any major wrecks. As mentioned, my welder replaced the two common areas on the frame with these cars in the rear cross section with complete new parts made in England. The rest of the underside of the car is clean. The collector that I bought this from had done this car for his personal driver, and had the body shop correct any issues properly prior to paint.
