Vehicle Detail
1967 Chevy Stepside: 283, Stick, 12 bolt posi, body off custom restoration!!!! Up for sale we have a 1967 Chevy C - 10 Pickup which has undergone a full body off restoration with some tasteful custom touches that really make this truck stand out from the rest. When I say this was a full body off restoration, I mean just that. The body was taken off the frame, the frame was cleaned and painted with POR-15 chassis black. The engine, trans, rear axle, suspension and lines were taken off the frame and each inspected, cleaned and replaced or restored. The body was then stripped to bare metal and massaged to a lazer straightness that is better than new. It was then primed, blocked, painted, wet sanded and buffed. The mile deep, shiny black paint will be the perfect indication of that. It also includes some custom touches such as frenched (tunneled) 61 Impala tail lights and a very inconspicuously mounted license plate mount under the tail gate. The interior was painted body color with a red accenting dash. The color combination is killer! At this time, the truck also received a new windshield and seal, window seals, fuzzies, door seals, vent window seals, rear window seal, etc. There are no leaks, the doors shut very nicely and there are no squeaks or rattles from anywhere on the truck or from the glass. The bed of the truck is a custom made, stained wood bed made from solid wood planks with powdercoated rails and stainless hardware. The truck was a strong runner when we got it and had shown indications of having a rebuild at some point in the not so distant past. After sitting for a while, the truck roared to life without much coaxing at all. The motor received new gaskets and a fresh coat of paint as it did not smoke or make any noise and runs extremely well. The engine is a 283 with a 2 barrel carb and a 3 speed that was originally on the column but has since been converted to a floor shift. Since the transmission shifted flawlessly, without any effort at all, the trans received a coat of paint as well and the engine and trans were installed with new engine and trans mounts and fresh fluid. The drive shaft was removed and so was the rear, which was inspected, cleaned, painted and reassembled. It is a 12 bolt posi unit that is assumed to be the original with the truck. The drive shaft was re-installed with new universal joints. The motor, trans and rear function beautifully with no problems or noises. The exhaust is a custom 2 1/4" with Thrush mufflers that exit below the bed and sound mean but not obnoxious. As with the rest of the truck, the suspension was removed, cleaned, painted and replaced with new bushings all around. The truck was lowered with brand new 3 inch lowering coils and new shocks. All fuel lines, wheel cylinders, brake lines, master cylinder, etc was replaced. The tires are brand new Mastercraft tires; 245/60/15 up front and 275/60/15 on the rear which are mounted on chrome smoothie wheels. The wheels would need to be painted or re-chromed if you wanted them to be show quality, but they present well for a driver. Unlike many restoration you come across, a great deal of time and attention was taken to focus on the small details that put this truck up above the rest. Many items that are usually overlooked because "they work" were not overlooked on this truck. All of the rubber was replaced with new on the truck, the inner and outer door handles are new with flawless chrome. The rag joint, body mount bushings, suspension bushings, lines, hardware, etc were replaced with new to ensure this truck would go down the road better than it did in 1967. You can bid on this truck with confidence that it will not disappoint. I urge anyone bidding on this truck to come and personally inspect the truck to ensure that there is nothing to hide but I'm pretty sure the pictures and the truck will speak for themselves. There are pictures of the entire build process and they can be provided at bidders request. This truck is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time should this truck sell locally. Thanks for looking.
