Vehicle Detail

I am relisting this car due to someone clicking "Buy it now", then eBay cancelled the BIN because the person did not have a valid eBay account, and then they deleted the entire listing so I could not just click "relist". Ugh. I bought this '61 Bugeye about three years ago with the intent of doing a full on restoration since these cars are so cheap and easy to work on, and parts are very readily available (you can pretty much build one from scratch out of a Moss Motors catalog). However, my arthritis got in the way and I've finally come to terms with the fact that I will not be able to restore cars anymore. I do not have all of the parts -- big stuff off the top of my head that is missing are seats, carbs, radiator and supports, and badges. Included with the car are two engines, a used 1275 out of a later Sprite, and a 0-mile rebuilt 948. I do not know if the 948 is the original one from the car. Also I have two later A-H ribcase transmissions, one disassembled, one together but running condition unknown. The original grille is nearly perfect and it does have five wheels and four hubcaps. Hubcap chrome is also nearly perfect, AH lettering could use a touchup. The aluminum trim for around the cockpit is also in excellent shape. Good gas tank. The windshield is cracked but the frame and frame stanchions are very nice. Needs floorpans and wheelarch lips as well as the lower edges of the rear valence. Door pillars have surface rust only, and the inside of the "boot" (if you can call it that, since only access is from behind the seats) is solid. Rockers show signs of previous repair and there is some bubbling. Bonnet is solid, but some previous owner shaved and filled the fender beading and cut holes to mount Triumph Spitfire hood latches. Due to the fact that they have sat around for a long time, I recommend pulling the heads on the engines before use and regasketing. I also recommend opening up the transmissions and giving them a thorough flush. No top or top frame, but I do have a pair of side curtains, plexiglass will need to be replaced. Car will roll and steer onto a trailer once I air the tires up. Also comes with over $150 worth of manuals. 50% non-refundable deposit due within 7 days by cashier's check or money order only - no paypal! Payment due in full at pickup, or within 30 days, whichever comes first. I can hold on to the car for a while. Pickup or shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
