Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on ebay so I can describe how it looks, runs and drives as accurately as possible. I still encourage every potential bidder to come see and drive a vehicle in person before bidding. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my secure warehouse in York, PA. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1988 BMW 325i convertible. The E30 BMW needs no introduction as its reputation preceeds it. The example we have today is an AVERAGE CONDITION driver. One thing you will not find on this BMW is rust. I couldn't find any rust on the body of this BMW...which is why I bought it. There is a good case of old BMW paint going on. Please review the photos in detail. You will see typical peeling of the clear coat on the trunk, hood and most of the panels on the left side of the car. The body is very strait and shows no major dings, dents or scratches. The optional BBS alloy wheels show very well and are wrapped in matching Michellins with good tread all around. All of the lights and glass appear to be in tact. The roof shows well and looks newer. There is some adhesive residue on the left front of the top which looks to have been there to correct a past issue. There are no known issues with the top. I would rate the interior of this BMW to be in BELOW AVERAGE condition. The door cards are clean and in tact. The carpets show wear throughout. The seats show more wear than normal as you can see. The dash is not cracked or faded, though. The interior of the top looks good. The trunk is spacious and clean. There is a CD changer in the trunk but it is missing the magazine. The factory climate control system is working properly. The air conditioning will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold air. The radio is asking for the security code which I don't have so the audio system cannot be tested by me. Although they are not much on the eyes, I forgot how nice the seats were in the older BMW's. These are probably some of the most comfortable driving seats I've ever sat in. This is truly a drivers car. The power windows and mirrors work properly, too. Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running condition. The 2.5L inline six starts easily and runs well. I did not notice any smoke or leaks from the engine. This idle is a little on the rough side once it warms up but it's not bad. The engine makes good power and revs smoothly. I have driven this BMW more than 100 miles and it drives pretty well for an older vehicle. The suspension and steering feel tight and responsive. The brakes do a good job of stopping the car. Out on the highway, she cruises pretty well with no funny business. The clutch engages smoothly and does not chatter or slip. Gear changes through the manual transmission are smooth. This BMW proudly wears BMW Club stickers and was obviously owned by an enthusiast. Whether you're looking for a strait E30 to restore or a reliable drop top, this car is up for the task.
