1991 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.6 This car has the features that I want such as anti-lock brakes and air bag protection. It has absolutely immaculate light grey leather seats with high quality sheepskin seat covers on the front for driver and passenger. The driver seat is not scuffed or sunken. There is no rust on this California garaged car and the paint is immaculate “Azurro” blue above a two tone with grey lower panels. It is beautiful! There is only a small nick about 3/16” that can be touched up with the correct color paint. There is also a small and light scuff on the lower air dam that I recently noticed, and it could be easily touched up as well. It has the central key locking system that includes the trunk and also the gas filler as well. With a full gas tank in Sacramento I drove with two other adults to Stateline South Lake Tahoe and back on one tank, and refueled at the same gas station. I, emphasis on that, I received over 36 miles per gallon. And that is from the legendary smooth Mercedes 6 cylinder inline engine! Recent tune-up with new Bosch cap, rotor, and wire set and the 4-electrode Bosch Platinum Plus Plus spark plugs. It has Michelin speed rated and soft grippy Ice-X mud and snow rated tires with only about 3000 miles on them. The wheel weights are mounted inside to keep the appearance of the wheels, and the wheels have metal stems. The are filled with Nitrogen gas instead of air. I’ll never go back to an air compressor! I did a test wheel spin on loose dirt once and it appears to have a limited slip differential in it, because both patches were straight, even, and level for the 6 feet that I let it spin for. This is a really great car and I wish that I could keep it. But my health keeps me housebound and I have someone that does my grocery shopping. And besides, Yahoo recently had an article from Popular Science magazine naming this car as one of the 8 most desirable cars to buy to keep. The quote and a link to the full article is below. You are very unlikely to find a 21 year old car in any better condition. Oh yes, the driver vanity mirror had been glued over and has to be replaced. I will have the car completely detailed at a nearly shop before delivery and is included in the auction. It has full carpet mats over the immaculate original carpet and even the trunk is carpeted. My other older Mercedes’ did not have trunk carpet in them. It has the first aid kit in the rear deck and even has the complete set of factory tools in the trunk. “EVERY SEAT IS FIRST CLASS IN A MERCEDES!” I do like to see that 3-pointed star on the hood guiding the way while driving on a dark night. New and road tested parts are readily available when needed. Oh yes, this also has the permanent (cleanable) and famous K&N “FilterCharger” air filter that I also added.
