Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on ebay so I can give the most accurate description of how it runs and drives in the real world. It is my pleasure to present this gorgeous 1997 Audi Cabriolet for a NO RESERVE auction. The Cabriolet is a very rare and desirable Audi that will no doubt become a collectible car for Audi enthusiasts. Having limited availability in the USA, the Cabriolet was expensive and not easy to find. In fact, total worldwide production of the Audi Cabriolet was only about 70,000 units during ten years of production which is about only 7,000 units/year WORLDWIDE. Audi typically imports about 10% of their production to the United States which means that roughly 1,000 per year were brought to the States. In other Audi Cabriolet trivia, an Audi Cabriolet was Princess Diana's personal automobile. Later production units (97-2000) were actually made for Audi by Karmann who has had a long standing relationship in building specialty cars for VW/Audi such as the Ghia. These cars are still one of the best made convertibles available thanks to the amount of engineering that went into making them. As you can see, this is a stunning example of one of the finest convertibles ever made. Finished in a very desirable midnight blue with matching soft top, this Cabriolet is absolutely jaw dropping from any angle. The dark blue paint has a mile deep shine from any angle with hardly a blemish to be found. The only imperfection I could find was a small crack on the front bumper. I would rate the condition of the exterior of this Cabroilet to be in EXCELLENT condition. Considering the age and miles, the amount of care that shows in the condition of this Audi is second to none. Just look at the photos!!! The blue soft top is in great condition from front to back. The rear window is clear and free of cracks. The wheels are in like new condition all around and are wrapped in a set of Continental ContiPro's with excellent tread. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact, too. This is an excellent example of a very hard to find vehicle. The Audi Cabriolet was usually not someones first Audi or even their "only" Audi. These were often owned by Audi loyalitsts and enthusiasts. I would rate the interior of this Cabriolet to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. The drivers seat shows a tear in the leather on the seat cushion insert (not the bolster). A new insert can be installed by any quality upholstery shop for around $100. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpet is clean and full throughout the cabin. The other seats show very well. Sitting in the drivers seat, you will notice that all of the wood trim is in excellent condition. Both front seats are heated, too. The power windows, locks, mirrors and top all work as intended. The inside liner of the top looks as good as the outside. The climate control system is working properly and the air conditioner blows ice cold air. The stereo is the factory original Audi system which sounds great. This Audi comes with one key and one original Audi remote for the factory alarm which is in perfect working order. The trunk looks like nothing has ever been in it. Again, just an amazing example of a very special automobile. Mechanically, this Audi appears to be in good running condition. The 2.8L 172hp V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. The timing belt was recently done as well as the water pump. The cooling system has even been filled with factory Audi clear coolant which is very, very hard to get in the states. The suspension and steering are very tight and responsive as they should be. The brakes stop this car very well. Highway cruising is easy and smooth as you would expect. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. There are no known issues with this Audi. Driving this car is very rewarding. From the chrome lined windshield and roof line trim to the Audi Sport steering wheel, everything about this car speaks to its exclusivity. Production of this car ran long after its sedan version ended production because of the intense amount of engineering that went into making a quality cabriolet product. I share building space with a VW/Audi specialty service facility run by two Audi certified factory technicians. Both were blown away at the condition of this Cabriolet...even going as far as to say that these cars are so rare that they don't even see them at the dealerships for service anymore. I buy and sell vehicles in volume, so I can make a living selling vehicles at prices that make retail dealers sick. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on ebay so I can give the most accurate description of how it runs and drives in the real world. I encourage every potential bidder to come see and drive a vehicle in person before bidding. Vehicles are shown by appointment only at my York, PA storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. It is my pleasure to present this gorgeous 1997 Audi Cabriolet for a NO RESERVE auction. The Cabriolet is a very rare and desirable Audi that will no doubt become a collectible car for Audi enthusiasts. Having limited availability in the USA, the Cabriolet was expensive and not easy to find. In fact, total worldwide production of the Audi Cabriolet was only about 70,000 units during ten years of production which is about only 7,000 units/year WORLDWIDE. Audi typically imports about 10% of their production to the United States which means that roughly 1,000 per year were brought to the States. In other Audi Cabriolet trivia, an Audi Cabriolet was Princess Diana's personal automobile. Later production units (97-2000) were actually made for Audi by Karmann who has had a long standing relationship in building specialty cars for VW/Audi such as the Ghia. These cars are still one of the best made convertibles available thanks to the amount of engineering that went into making them. As you can see, this is a stunning example of one of the finest convertibles ever made. Finished in a very desirable midnight blue with matching soft top, this Cabriolet is absolutely jaw dropping from any angle. The dark blue paint has a mile deep shine from any angle with hardly a blemish to be found. The only imperfection I could find was a small crack on the front bumper. I would rate the condition of the exterior of this Cabroilet to be in EXCELLENT condition. Considering the age and miles, the amount of care that shows in the condition of this Audi is second to none. Just look at the photos!!! The blue soft top is in great condition from front to back. The rear window is clear and free of cracks. The wheels are in like new condition all around and are wrapped in a set of Continental ContiPro's with excellent tread. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact, too. This is an excellent example of a very hard to find vehicle. The Audi Cabriolet was usually not someones first Audi or even their "only" Audi. These were often owned by Audi loyalitsts and enthusiasts.
I would rate the interior of this Cabriolet to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. The drivers seat shows a tear in the leather on the seat cushion insert (not the bolster). A new insert can be installed by any quality upholstery shop for around $100. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpet is clean and full throughout the cabin. The other seats show very well. Sitting in the drivers seat, you will notice that all of the wood trim is in excellent condition. Both front seats are heated, too. The power windows, locks, mirrors and top all work as intended. The inside liner of the top looks as good as the outside. The climate control system is working properly and the air conditioner blows ice cold air. The stereo is the factory original Audi system which sounds great. This Audi comes with one key and one original Audi remote for the factory alarm which is in perfect working order. The trunk looks like nothing has ever been in it. Again, just an amazing example of a very special automobile.
Mechanically, this Audi appears to be in good running condition. The 2.8L 172hp V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. The timing belt was recently done as well as the water pump. The cooling system has even been filled with factory Audi clear coolant which is very, very hard to get in the states. The suspension and steering are very tight and responsive as they should be. The brakes stop this car very well. Highway cruising is easy and smooth as you would expect. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. There are no known issues with this Audi. Driving this car is very rewarding. From the chrome lined windshield and roof line trim to the Audi Sport steering wheel, everything about this car speaks to its exclusivity. Production of this car ran long after its sedan version ended production because of the intense amount of engineering that went into making a quality cabriolet product. I share building space with a VW/Audi specialty service facility run by two Audi certified factory technicians. Both were blown away at the condition of this Cabriolet...even going as far as to say that these cars are so rare that they don't even see them at the dealerships for service anymore. Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check(cashiers or personal), money order will be subject to verification of fundss by my bank. The vehilce will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and available for withdraw.
Paypal is accepted for the initial deposit only...not the balance.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auctions end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.
Fees:
An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Buyer is responsible for their own taxes, tags and registration fees. 30 day transport tags are available through PennDOT to out of state buyers for $35.
This auction is a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. All vehicles are sold as-is unless otherwise specified. I have done my best to accurately describe this vehicle. It is up to the buyer to come see and further inspect the car before the end of the auction.-->
