We are pleased to offer this exceptionally nice 1931 Model A Deluxe Roadster for your bidding pleasure! Why do we consider this car to be exceptional? First off, it is a true 2 owner car (not counting myself as I have not registered the automobile), owned by the prior owner since 1942! As a teenager he purchased the car from the owner of a gas station in Wantagh NY, where he pumped gas after school. Secondly, the car is very straight and original; including the body and drive train. This young man grew up to become a doctor, and this car continued to be his pride and joy. He meticulously cared for and maintained this automobile over the years and in the mid 70's the car recieved new paint, new tires, engine rebuild and apolstery. Unfortunately the responsibilities of being a doctor limited his time to use the car, and according to his wife, it was driven very little after that time. In 1980 they built a new house and the car was put up on blocks for long term storage in their new dry, heated basement. Finally, its still in great condition throughout. People who have seen the car cannot believe that it looks as good as it does. This past May I purchased the car and removed it from the basement, where it had been like a time capsule for 31 years. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the doctor (now deceased) had both drained the gas tank and put oil in the cylinders. With a new battery and fresh gas, the car fired up and purred away. As I expected, the engine did require some TLC from sitting; aside from servicing the motor, I installed a new greaseless water pump, new Heavy Duty Radiator, belts, hoses, clamps and flushed the block. The carberator (which had been replaced once before) was replaced with the correct reproduction Zenith, sediment bulb and tank shut-off. I added a quick disconnect power switch in the cab, along with new battery cables. The exterior of the car recieved new show quality bumpers front and rear, new cowl light arms, and a windshield gasket. The body on this car is super straight, fenders show no signs of repairs; the paint is near perfect. The wheels and tires look super! The car presents itself very well, as can be seen in the photos. Otherwise, the car is exactly as it came out of storage. It runs and drives very well, shifts nicely, brakes well, even the hand brake works! For that matter, all the lights work, horn works, guages all work (except for the odometer). This is a car that you can drive to the show, win your class, and then drive home! It's that nice; a straight body, looks great, runs great, and a true pleasure to drive. I would love to keep it, but I have a daughter in college and another right behind her. I am hopeful that someone will continue to care for and appreciate this fine automobile. If you are seriously considering purchasing a Quality Model A Roadster, then this is the car for you. This is the very first time this car has been offered for sale right here on ebay. I do have a modest reserve, please don't ask; I do expect the car will sell.
