Vehicle Detail

If you like big Chevys, this is for you. The car was purchased by the original owner in 1967 in Boise, Idaho. It has been in Central Oregon since day one and reflects it. I purchased the car from the original owners grandson, who drove it to the last year of high school and one year of college. Since purchasing the car in 2003 the car has had some upgrades. The interior is new and of the original type and quality. The car has been painted in white with a touch of pearl. The original color was gold with a white top. The engine did not require anything more than a good cleaning and a carburetor rebuild. The engine, the original 327 V8, had been rebuilt to stock and has approximately 4000 miles since then. The transmission is the original powerglide, and has also been rebuilt to stock condition. The only rust found in the car was a small area of the rear trunk lip, which is common to these cars. The rust was removed and a short section of new metal was welded in during preparation for painting. It is virtually undetectable. The cars drivetrain is original and was only serviced. The bearings were checked and re-packed. The suspension also received a complete check and was greased where appropriate. The brake system is in excellent condition and was also inspected. What the car needs is the result of sliding off of the road on an icy patch. The front bumper received a ding and should be replaced or straightened and re-chromed. The side moldings need to be replaced. Three of the originals are with the car but are in poor condition. The windshield cracked, unknown why, and should be replaced. There is a small dent in the lower left quarter that would normally be covered by the trim. Looks like an easy fix and should not require any painting. The dash has finally cracked and the steering wheel also. Both should be replaced. Lastly, tires are needed. The wheels are from an IROC Z and are in excellent condition. The new owner can certainly keep them with new tires or could find a set of original style steel wheels with hub caps. What we have here is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of Chevrolet's classics. It is an original SS and is a fun car to drive. The car has the potential to be a show winner with not much investment. The market is increasing every year and these cars will always have a following. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an inspection, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy bidding.
