Vehicle Detail

First, Ebay does not allow me to select automatic for the transmission, the transmission is not manual!! Up for sale is my 1989 F-350. This truck is for sale because my wife hates it. We purchased it to be tow vehicle for pulling our horse trailer, since she rides more than I do, we had to purchase another truck which she likes better. Since then this one mostly just sits I have owned this truck for right at a year. The title (which is clear and in hand) shows my date of purchase as 10/31/2010. When I purchased the truck it had belonged to an older couple who had previously used it for attending craft fairs where they sold some mechandise. Because of this it has a 10K bumper hitch. I installed the gooseneck plate. We used the truck very little last year, and this spring the transmission went out. I paid $1280 to have the transmission rebuilt at a shop in Springfield. Shortly after we got it back, the rear seal on the engine began to fail. We have not repaired the rear seal. Since the transmission repair, we have driven the truck less than 1000 miles. The rebuild had a one year warranty. Overall the truck is in pretty good shape for a 22 year old vehicle, the hood has some surface rust, and it does have one dent in the passengers door (I tried to show this in a photo). the front bumper is also bent down at both ends. I did this when we towed it after the trans went out pulling the horse trailer. The interior of this truck is clean and in pretty good shape. the front seat is threadbare in a couple places and has one small tear. It runs fairly well overall, our biggest problem is the gas in it is usually old, so the truck normally needs the cobwebs blow out of it. Other things that need attention: The a/c blows hot, It is an r-12 system, I have not tried converting it or repairing the system. the left direction has to be held down to operate (the right is fine, this is a plastic part in the steering column that can be purchased for not too much) The tires are old, they are in decent shape and good tread, but they could use rebalanced to achieve a much smoother ride. The cowl is loose in a couple places and catches on the hood when it is opened. The hood still opens, you just have to be careful. I do not have the original tailgate, the gate show in the photo's is the one that was on it when I purchased it. The rear fuel pump seems weak, the truck will usually run off the rear tank, but it will not start on it. I had intended to replace the pump several weeks ago and had let the tank get empty so it would be easier to handle, then a friend borrowed the truck and filled both tanks before he brought it back. Overall with the lack of rust and great shape the body and interior are it this truck would make a great restoration project. Or fix the rear seal and drive the heck out of it for a work truck. Please feel free to contact me if you wish to inspect this truck prior to the close of the auction. Be advised in Missouri the plates on a vehicle belong to the owner and do not stay with the vehicle. Please bring plates, or be prepared to drive home without plates.
