The winner of this vehicle (jacs1luv) apparently bid on this vehicle as a birthday present for her one love...but he didn't want a car for his birthday. She at least had the courage to call me and tell me in person...but the end result is the same. I still have an uncommonly nice 2000 BMW 540i to sell. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a head turning 2000 BMW 540i Sport. The 5 series has been one of the most versitile vehilces from its introduction through present. This stunning example is finished in dark gray with light gray interior and is stunning from every angle. The paint has a deep gloss and appears to have been very well cared for. There is one blemish I was able to find on the trunk lid. Otherwise, you'd have to be pretty picky to find anything worth complaining about on the body of this car. I would rate the exterior condition of this BMW as EXCELLENT considering the miles. This 540i is a true sport, which is visible by the Motorsport multi-function steering wheel, Motorsport shifter, sport seats and //M sport alloy wheels. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The tires have average tread. This is a jaw droppingly good looking car that anyone would be proud to own. I would rate the interior of this BMW to be in EXCELLENT condition. As you can see, the interior is nearly flawless. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are as new throughout. The headliner is clean and tight. The sport seats show almost no wear at all. Both front seats are power adjusted and heated. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The wood trim shows well throughout the interior. The trunk is spacious and clean and houses a CD changer as well as a full sized matching spare tire. This 540i comes with a complete set of owners manuals, two key (remotes) as well as its original $56,600 window sticker. The factory security system is working properly. The climate control is fully automatic and works properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold. The stereo is completely original and sounds great. In addition to being a performance centered sedan, the 540i has gobs of safety features from its frame and body construction to stability management. In addition to the normal dual front airbags, the 540i comes with inflatable head restraints, side door airbags as well as airbags in the outside of each front seat. Mechanically, this 540i appears to have been well maintained. It was bought and then traded back to Tom Masano BMW in Reading, PA. The 4.4L engine fires right up and runs smoothly. I noticed no smoke or leaks from this vehicle. During my road test, this BMW displayed excellent manners. The suspension is nice and tight like it should be. The steering is tight and responsive as it should be. The brakes stop the car very well. The engine makes tons of power virtually at will. With the manual transmission, this car is uncommonly fast in any circumstance. There is a check engine light on. I pulled the code (P0011) and it is for excessive advance on the intake cam on bank one. The most likely cause is a bad VANOS soleniod, but I've done no diagnostics on it beyond pulling the code and reading google articles. There is no excessive chain noise to suggest a stretched chain or a failed tensioner but I have not put the time into taking it apart. There is no power loss or drivability issues that would point to any serious condition like a jumped tooth. I did have an opportunity to speak to the previous owner of the car in search of any usefull history on the car. He told me that he had no knowledge of this issue and it was not a contributing factor in his decision to trade this car in on a newer model. This car rockets to highway speeds literally before you know it...and cruising is a walk in the park. The clutch feels great and grabs quickly with no chatter or slipping. Shifts are smooth through the Getrag six speed manual. Once in a while, the ABS/brake light comes on while driving...then goes away. I have no idea why. I have owned more BMW's than I can count, including an E39 M5, several 5 &740's as well as a 750iL. Driving this car, you definitely own the road. This is a high end car that is most likely due for service. This is one of those cars that you should not spend your last dime to buy. These are great cars...but are far less fun when you can't afford to service it. This is not a fast-lube kind of car. Please know what you're bidding on. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. This stunning example is finished in dark gray with light gray interior and is stunning from every angle. The paint has a deep gloss and appears to have been very well cared for. There is one blemish I was able to find on the trunk lid. Otherwise, you'd have to be pretty picky to find anything worth complaining about on the body of this car. I would rate the exterior condition of this BMW as EXCELLENT considering the miles. This 540i is a true sport, which is visible by the Motorsport multi-function steering wheel, Motorsport shifter, sport seats and //M sport alloy wheels. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The tires have average tread. This is a jaw droppingly good looking car that anyone would be proud to own.
I would rate the interior of this BMW to be in EXCELLENT condition. As you can see, the interior is nearly flawless. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are as new throughout. The headliner is clean and tight. The sport seats show almost no wear at all. Both front seats are power adjusted and heated. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The wood trim shows well throughout the interior. The trunk is spacious and clean and houses a CD changer as well as a full sized matching spare tire. This 540i comes with a complete set of owners manuals, two key (remotes) as well as its original $56,600 window sticker. The factory security system is working properly. The climate control is fully automatic and works properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold. The stereo is completely original and sounds great. In addition to being a performance centered sedan, the 540i has gobs of safety features from its frame and body construction to stability management. In addition to the normal dual front airbags, the 540i comes with inflatable head restraints, side door airbags as well as airbags in the outside of each front seat.
Mechanically, this 540i appears to have been well maintained. It was bought and then traded back to Tom Masano BMW in Reading, PA. The 4.4L engine fires right up and runs smoothly. I noticed no smoke or leaks from this vehicle. During my road test, this BMW displayed excellent manners. The suspension is nice and tight like it should be. The steering is tight and responsive as it should be. The brakes stop the car very well. The engine makes tons of power virtually at will. With the manual transmission, this car is uncommonly fast in any circumstance. There is a check engine light on. I pulled the code (P0011) and it is for excessive advance on the intake cam. This can be caused by a failing chain tensioner, a stretched chain or a faulty VANOS solenoid. I usually gravitate to the worst possible cause (which would be chain stretch) but when the car idles/drives, there is no audible chain slap beyond normal noise. The tensioner is an easy fix but a failing tensioner would produce chain slap also, and it idles pretty quietly. The most likely cause is a bad soleniod, but I've done no diagnostics on it beyond pulling the code and reading google articles. There is no power loss or drivability issues. This car rockets to highway speeds literally before you know it...and cruising is a walk in the park. The clutch feels great and grabs quickly with no chatter or slipping. Shifts are smooth through the Getrag six speed manual. Once in a while, the ABS/brake light comes on while driving...then goes away. I have no idea why. I have owned more BMW's than I can count, including an E39 M5, several 5 &740's as well as a 750iL. Driving this car, you definitely own the road. This is a high end car that is most likely due for service. This is one of those cars that you should not spend your last dime to buy. These are great cars...but are far less fun when you can't afford to service it. This is not a fast-lube kind of car. Please know what you're bidding on. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auctions end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.
Fees:
An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Buyer is responsible for their own taxes, tags and registration fees. 30 day transport tags are available through PennDOT to out of state buyers for $35.
