I emailed him and offered to deliver the car to him since he only lived 40 minutes away because I'm a nice guy. His response (through email) was that he had to move unexpectedly and would not have a place to store the car... (really???) Each unit is thoroughly road tested before being listed on eBay. The description you are reading is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on time spent driving it. Every potential buyer is encouraged to see and drive a vehicle before bidding on it. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Please take the time to review this entire description, including all photos as well as my terms and conditions, before bidding. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 2002 Lexus IS300 sedan. The IS300 needs no introduction as its reputation preceeds it in just about any automotive circle. What makes this one special is the manual transmission. IS300's are not hard to find...but ones with a stick shift are. With a manual transmission, the IS300 transforms from an entertaining street car to a formidable track car. I would rate the exterior of this IS300 as POOR. As you can see, there is cosmetic damage to the front end. From what I can see, the hood will need to be replaced along with the grille. The upper radiator support appears to be slightly bent. There is cosmetic damage to the front and rear bumpers. The headlights could use polished but are in tact and aimed properly. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The rest of the car looks quite good. The doors, rear quarters, roof and trunk all look great. The tires have good tread all around. Due to the light front impact, the hood does not latch fully. The safety latch keeps the hood from opening while driving but it does not latch properly. I would rate the interior of this IS300 as AVERAGE. The seats are in remarkably good condition for the miles and show minimal wear. The carpets are clean. The headliner looks good, too. The dash has some odd scratches on it (tried to photograph it). The door panels are clean and in tact. A full set of books and manuals are included. The automatic climate control system is working properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold. The factory premium sound system is working properly and sounds excellent. This Lexus is equipped with power seats, heated seats, sunroof, in-dash multi CD and more. Mechanically, this IS300 appears to be all there. If there is one thing Toyota knows how to do, it's how to build a strait six. The engine starts right up and runs well. I've driven this car for several days, covering over 100 miles, and was shocked at how nice this car drives in spite of the high miles. The suspension and steering both feel nice and tight. She drives strait down the road with no pulling or vibrations. The brakes show a very mild pulsation at highway speeds. This Lexus was sold new in Virginia Beach but has college parking permits from NJ schools...so weekend trips home would explain the miles. The clutch engages strong and does not slip. Shifts are smooth and precise. The only damage I noticed to the engine compartment was the coolant expansion tank has a crack at the top. The engine makes plenty of power and pulls hard to redline. This car simply begs to be driven on a winding road. If you've been looking for an IS300 race car or project platform, you've just struck gold! Here is a shot at an affordable IS300 that leaves a huge budget down the road. There is an intermittant MIL code for an oxygen sensor. Otherwise, there are no known issues.
