Disclaimer: Before bidding please read the entire auction description, this car is amazing but I spent a $#*&@#^load of time writing this so humor me and read it! I know you don't read alot of books so consider this reading credit for the semester. If you have any spare time after, check out ToyotaReference.com and look at the 92' Supra brochure. The car on the cover looks identical to this one. In the interest of full disclosure here is the 100% true back story on this car. It was used as a dealer demo for the first 8k miles of its life. It came off the production line on 03/22/92, but was not sold to a customer until 11/10/93. It had an A/C Expansion Valve recall performed on 04/24/96 at Toyota of Roswell. It was in a parking lot fender bender in 1998 which just involved some paint trading on the drivers fender, it was reported to insurance and professionally repaired. It was then owned by one family all the way up until February of this year, they traded it into a dealer in Iva SC. Then a young man purchased it from the dealer in April and drove it until he put the front end into a ditch txting while driving in August. It was his ultimate dream car but he did not have the means to repair it and did not have insurance on it. That is where I come in. I purchased the vehicle from him at the end of August and fixed it up with the intention of selling it back to a collector that would appreciate it for what it is. Honestly I love the car but it was never my intention to keep it, I don't have the room, and saving rare old Toyota's is just a hobby of mine. I am an ASE master tech with an associates degree from the Toyota T-Ten progam at cpcc. I have owned 40+ Toyotas and 12 supras now, this is by far the nicest/rarest US model i've ever seen. The lower half of the front bumper was beyond repair and the lower end tank of the intercooler got beat up. The drivers inner tie-rod was also bent, but suprisingly the engine splash shield made it out just fine. There was no damage from the lower half of the bumper up. I know zero about body work but I can do anything mechanically. So I replaced the intercooler, the drivers inner tie-rod, and the front bumper. The front bumper was then painted to match the car with a nice base/clear toyota 202 black job at my local body shop, not some cheap single coat paint. To finish off the front bumper I installed a shine auto lip since the original one was torn. The vehicle got a 4-wheel laser alignment and it lined up beautifully, it drives perfect and tracks perfectly straight, none of the suspension components or wheels were harmed. Luckily other than sliding into a grassy ditch the young man before me did take very good care of it and it is in amazing shape. A true collectors piece. I'm glad he harmed it in a minor way so it could be passed on to me before he started modifying it and ruined the car. The vehicle has a clean and clear title. All of the vin# stickers on the body panels match all of the vin#'s etched into every piece of glass thanks to Toyoguard, the car is 100% original and un-modified minus the trick shine auto lip. Overview: This car is friggin UBER rare. For starters they only made 1,193 Supras in 1992 total, period. That is the 2nd rarest US production year only to the 1996 mk4 supras. Consider then that this car is the MOST DESIREABLE model/color combination. Being a 1992 Black/Black Leather Turbo Targa 5-Speed this is the best mk3 supra ever sold in the United States, I would be willing to bet there are less than 10 left in existance, especially in this condition. The Toyota Black 202 color code mk3 supras are very rare, only made in 91/92. The black leather interior is EXCLUSIVE to the 1992 Supras, it is based off the Shadow Grey leather used in 90/91 supras but the seats and panel inserts are BLACK not Grey. It also has the rare dealer Toyoguard option, which means it has a rust protection coating underneath and the VIN# has been etched into every single piece of glass along with stickers on the inside of the fenders. I know i'm using the CAPS function alot here but this is the rarest/nicest US sold mk3 supra i've ever seen. This is the top dog, the fully loaded and most desireable US mk3 supra possible. Interior: I could probably get away with describing this section of the car in one word, perfect. Well it is perfect to me, but it was driven regularly until it's owner ran out of money. That being said, every single feature, button, and light works like new. The A/C will freeze you out of the car, it still has the original R12 freon that was outlawed and replaced by R134A in 1994. Very few R12 cars haven't leaked out their freon by now, I mean it is 20 years later. But this one hasn't, the heat and A/C work perfect, and if you haven't experienced R12 powered Air Conditioning, get ready to step up to flavor baby haha. The dash, the center console, the shift boot, the e-brake boot, the steering wheel, the seats, the carpet, the head liner, THEY ARE ALL IMMACULATE. The floor mats do have a little normal wear, but the carpet underneath is like new. The leather is still very fresh feeling and hasn't become dry and brittle anywhere, someone has taking great care to keep it moisturized and protected. The drivers side bolster of course has a little wear to the color but no cracks anywhere. The rear seats are like brand new because they are never used. This is the first Supra i've seen that has a carpeted spare tire area, really makes it look nice, not that you look at the never used spare alot but it gives a very finished feel to the car. There is one tiny 1/3" nick in the drivers door panel, very hard to see. It does have the factory CD player with optional upgraded "subwoofer" speakers in the back trim panels. It still has the original owners manual, key stock tag, quality check list from the dealer, targa tools with the plugs to stick in the holes when its off (which i've never seen before), and Toyo Gaurd protection brochure. Yes it actually has the Vin# etched into every single piece of glass, someone paid alot of money for this car when it was new. The cruise control still works great, and it has the cup holders with revised center console. It is much shallower than previous years to allow your cups to have something to sit on, also has factory cut carpet liners for the center console and the flip up coin tray. It of course has a power drivers seat with power lumbar and bolsters, a drivers airbag, power windows, and variable power steering. In one sentence, the most comfortable and cleanest supra interior i've ever ridden in. Exterior: Exterior wise the car is about as nice as they come, though it does have some minor flaws. There are still some scratches on the drivers fender molding trim but the paint is scratch free. Infact it is damn near immaculate overall, once waxed it looks new. You can tell the car has been garaged its whole life, easy to tell by the center caps still matching the wheels in their shade of silver. Since they are plastic and the wheels are aluminum if the sun hits them for any extended period of time the paint fades quickly. But these look brand new. There is only one ding on the entire car, it is on the drivers qtr panel and is about a 1/4" big, easy paintless dent removal job. I will go ahead and admit I am no body expert, I can do anything mechanically, but when it comes to judging paint and body work I am at a loss. Just don't have the eye for it. But from what I can tell it looks all original aside from a few paint chips and the front bumper. There are a couple rock chips on the headlight covers that have been covered by touch-up paint. It even has the original engine splash shield underneath which is a big factor in keeping the engine clean and often thrown away during oil changes since you have to remove it and most techs don't care. The wheels are PERFECT, no curb rash or clear coat peeling. All of the glass is also perfect, the factory tint is in pretty good condition for its age. All of the wipers/lights work, as do the power heated mirrors. Even has the original chrome exhaust tips in good shape. The fog lights do work as well, someone put super white bulbs in them so they are infact somewhat brighter than the low beams. It has never been modified minus the shine lip, and as you can tell never been lowered. If I was keeping the car I might lower it a little but other than that I wouldn't change a thing about its appearance. Mechanical: Here comes my area of expertise. This is the quietest, smoothest, and most perfect 7M-GTE engine i've ever driven. It fires right up and runs absolutely like new. The engine bay is so clean I would highly recommend eating off of it over a few restaurants in town, no joke. I am thankful it was driven atleast somewhat regularly before its owner ran out of money because otherwise it would have a ton of oil leaks from stale seals. 115k is about the perfect mileage for a car this old, only 5700 miles a year. It is 100% all original with no modifications whatsoever. It has one small leak from a power steering hose since it sat for a bit, it isn't very noticeable but it is the only leak I could see. I did replace the CPS cover and gasket with one of the last new OEM Toyota pieces in existance. I bought it about 5 years ago for another supra but never installed it, somehow I didn't lose it in all of my moves and I figured this car deserved it. The transmission and clutch are very heavy duty turbo truck sourced items and if you haven't driven a turbo Supra before you will get used to it. The engine is as quiet as a sleeping kitten, it has ZERO problematic ticking, knocking, or tapping of any sort. This is one of the few 7M-GTE's i've ever seen run more than 40psi of oil pressure on just 10w30 oil. It never smokes, overheats, or ever goes above half way on the temp gauge. It has always had Mobil1 Synthetic 10w30 and regular coolant flushes. It has never had the boost turned up or any modifications of any sort. Still has a new OEM air filter and the Turbo impeller blades have near zero play. The Timing belt and water pump were replaced 4 years ago and still looks good with no cracks. The plug wires and plugs were also done a couple years back with only about 5k miles on them, all OEM Toyota of course. The coil pack cover is in perfect shape, and is the only one i've ever seen that isn't cracked, the valve covers look brand new as do all of the hoses. No boost leaks here. The whole car is rust free. The struts still look new and the suspension rides like new, the TEMS works perfect and there isn't a single pop or squeak to be heard anywhere. It is all very tight and smooth, and the brakes still have a ton of life left, ABS works great. The exhaust has zero leaks and is very quiet, the engine has a very powerful yet subtle note to it under boost. It of course has the 3.73 LSD rear diff. The tires are expensive matching Michelins with between 3/4-32nds left, they ride great and will last another 5-10k miles easy. What else can I say, if you have ever wondered what it was like to own one of these when they were new, this is about as close as you will ever get. I feel priveledged just to have driven it. That is about it, if you have read the entire description you deserve some easy bake oven treats. Remember, if you have any questions about anything please feel free to give me a call at 828-458-0244 any time. This is a no reserve auction, so whatever it sells for it goes for. I really hope you register with the 92 owners group after purchasing, this thing deserves to be kept in mint stock condition for many years to come. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
