Vehicle Detail
I recently acquired this very nice example short wheelbase r75/5. It has been mildly restored and perhaps, lightly modified (larger bore?) than stock. The prior owner had no paperwork and simply bought the bike because it was pretty and he was not much of a biker. He acquired it from the original owner who put the money into the modifications and has no paperwork to prove what was done. I have had five R75/5 bikes in my personal history and none have been so fast as this one. I'm sure the dual spark helps a bit but not that much. Based on how clean the engine cases are and how tight she runs I'm thinking there has been a rebuild - at least top end. The dual spark set-up is beautifully executed and looks factory - it must have cost a lot to do. The ignition is probably similar to EnduraSpark unless it actually is - I have not pulled the tank to see it actually is. Here is some info on similar systems : http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/EnDuraSpark_Electronic_Ignition_System_BMW_R_70_80_p/edl-ign.htm The rest of the bike is rust free and looks great. The paint is a 9 out of 10 including very nice pinstriping. This is an old bike so there is some patina to the chrome trim, seat rails, and other minor scuffs but there is no evidence of accidents or history of being laid down that I can see. I just want the buyer not to expect a pristine bike, more like a nice daily driver sort of bike with exceptional paint. Metzlers are in excellent shape and not far from new. It has a new battery. The worst part about the bike is that the rubber fork boots are starting to crack and the throttle/choke cable housings are worn at the ends making them a bit floppy and sensitive. Otherwise all else is in good order. All lights and switches work with the occasional need to giggle them to engage meaning contacts could be cleaned. I never registered the bike and the title is clear and signed over by the previous owner. In New Mexico we do not need a bill of sale but if you need one in your state I can provide the proper paperwork. It is blank now and you can put the sale price down yourself. I have shipped well over 50 bikes in the past few years dealing on ebay with vintage motorcycles. I can assist with getting the shipping set-up. I personally like Daily Direct - they are safe and reliable and sometimes the cheapest although sometimes they can be slow. Email with questions as all sales are final. This is one nice and fast unit that needs only your love! See my excellent feedback. Deposit will be required immediately upon bidding and winning through Paypal as dictated when you go to place your bid/offer.
