Vehicle Detail

BMW 740i (E38) - 4.0 liter V-8. Navy blue, leather interior, power sunroof, upgraded speakers, AC runs cold, non-smoking owner. Re-listing as out-of-country bidder backed out of sale. Car is 1996 model year, but was manufactured in Oct. '95. Powerful motor, fast car. I drove this car daily, often with a senior federal government official with whom I work. All maintenance all records available. The motor has about 130,000 miles on it and was replaced a few years ago for over $4,000. I have all the service records. Car has custom tow hitch. Comes with manual. This car would make a decent daily commuting car or if you're just looking for a strong M60 motor, you'll have a decent car in which to transport it. This is one of the last years of BMWs that are relatively easy to work on, virtually everything is a 10mm socket. The body has its share of dings and dents. The motor was replaced in 2006 and runs very strong...perfect for a replacement motor for a BMW 740i, 540i or 840i. All paper work available. It could use some suspension work though it won't be an big issue if you're just doing city driving.Tires are ok. Comes with full size spare.Windshield replaced 2 years ago.AC runs coldNew radiatorNeeds some suspension work in front and rear.Condition: The body has quite a few dings and dents. The engine remains very powerful though there are a few electrical issues, most of which just require a new mass air flow meter for which I have a credit. Tires are ok. High performance front shocks are still good. Would suggest replacing front tie rod ends and a rear control arm on right side to eliminate road vibration when accelerating through 60 - 70 mph. New radiator. CD changer is broken. Interior is fair condition. Finally, we are all busy...please call with questions or email me for additional photos or questions to determine if a meeting and test drive is worth your time and mine. No offense to younger drivers but have spent too much time arranging test drives with people who aren't serious or need their parents permission to purchase so you must be over 18 and have valid drivers license before a test drive. Terms: As is, where is. No warranty. Again, I'm happy to answer questions on the phone and via email!
