Vehicle Detail
This has been my Father-In-Law's daily driver, since he bought it new (in 1978) in San Jose, CA. A few years ago, he had it re-painted the original colors (Light & Dark Camel). He immediately had fancy chrome wheels, a fiberglass shell and a trailer hitch put on it. He recently has developed dementia and the DMV has canceled his drivers' license. My wife has "Full" Power of Attorney, so she can legally take care of selling this vehicle for him. Due to his disease, he has destroyed much of his past records (including records for this vehicle). I know he has had some minor work done on it... tune-ups, a new carburetor and I believe the "top-end." Other than that, it's been good to him. I've recently noticed it blows a little blue smoke, when you start it up and I did have to add a quart of transmission fluid to it. **To satisfy a court issue, we had to put a "Non-Op" on it and I have the battery in my possession. This was done, to ensure he would NOT use the vehicle.** The tailgate, the right front fender and the right end of the front bumper have some minor damage (cosmetic only)... which (recently) a "body man" did some "straightening work to it. Since the shell has always been on it (& he's had carpeting in the bed), the bed is in really good shape. The spare wheel is "original" and he does have one "original" hub cap. Of course, this vehicle is sold "AS IS."A $250 deposit needs to be received within 48 hours of the end of the auction, to secure the sale. The balance needs to be received within 7 days of the auction, or the deposit will be non-refundable. The buyer is responsible for transporting it from it's current location (in Redding, CA 96003), as it has the "Non-Op" on it (and cannot currently be driven on pavement). If the new owner wants to get the title transferred and get insurance on it, then it could be driven off the property (currently in his garage). Feel free to contact me with any questions. On Oct-24-11 at 14:51:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Originally, he special ordered it as a 3/4 ton, with a posi-traction rear-end.
