It was a time where the American car companies began to express their styling direction and move each brand further away from each other. A Dodge was a Dodge and Chevy was a Chevy. Before this time of style, it was hard to distinguish the differences between all the cars on the road. This birth of new style also sparked a new revolution, the rise of the American V-8. The 1955 Dodge was all-new with a longer 120 in wheelbase and 212.1 in overall length. They shared their basic mechanicals with the De Soto, but featured special styling. These cars lasted through the 1955 and 1956 model years before being replaced by the all-new 1957 design. There were six body styles and four trim lines for 1955 with the flagship model being the Custom Royal-only convertible models were called "Custom Royal Lancer", and the "Custom Royal" sedan gained the Lancer badge soon after its introduction as well. The Custom line featured unique chrome tailfins (although early model year cars went without this trim), special tail light surrounds, and an upscale interior. Emphasis on design these cars were spectacular and brought Chrysler into a new age followed by many new and exciting models. This vehicle came to us from another collector in the Southern California area, where the car has resided in a rust free environment for many years. The Paint and body are in good condition although its restoration is older it is very presentable and like new. The car is a fun and fantastic car to own, cruise and show. The vehicle is finished in the one of the most desirable color combinations of Heather Rose and Sapphire white. The vehicle is fitted with a Rose and Black interior in the correct pattern with matching black carpet. The vehicle is equipped with Power Windows, Power Seat, Power Steering and Power Brakes including in dash clock and AM radio. The vehicle has new stainless and chrome it sits on a beautiful set of Chrome wire wheels and white wall tires. The vehicle is an early Hemi car and powered by a 270ci 193 horsepower engine with 4 barrel carb, coupled to a Automatic transmission. We have been regularly exercising the vehicle to various cruise nights and numerous show functions, the vehicle drives nice and shifts smooth.
