Take a deep breath........Sorry trying to reassure myself that this is the right thing to do. Ok better. Well im not sure what else to say but im selling the one thing that I was trying to hold on to forever. I truely doubt with all my experience and given the true rarity of this machine that I will ever come across one that is anywhere near this condition unless someone bought one off the showroom floor shrink wrapped it and never rode it!!! I am offering the purchase of my prized 1989 Honda FL400R Pilot to a Very lucky individual. I dont mean to give the drum roll effect here folks but this thing is pristine. Easily under 25hrs of running time. It has sat dormant on a pallet rack in my warehouse. So I feel it might be time to give someone else the opportunity to feel the culmination of Hondas most brilliantly engineered off road masterpiece, a NEARLY immaculate all original FL400R pilot. It is as close to museum quality as I have ever seen. This machine has never been restored. It is original(as it was when it was bought new even the tires, which still hold air.). I remember when I was younger walking into the showroom floor of the honda dealer and of course that feeling comes over you! You know the one........ It starts at childhood....... That im in heaven feeling im going to go sit on a 200x or maybe that 250r first! All the while trying not to look too excited. While going to check out the latest models, I see out of the corner of my eye one of the employees opens the service door and my jaw drops to the floor my heart is now pounding in my chest! It was my first sight of a pilot!!!! This machine was the most beautiful, bad ass looking thing I had ever seen! Still makes me smile thinking about it. Now the Fl350 odyssey was a very nice machine but when they unveiled the Pilot everything lined up behind it. I have been riding quads and such for many years fortunately started young. But nothing compares to the comfort, stability, and mild manners, until you decide to tempt the upper end of the throttle Holy $#!^ this things FAST feeling you get while belted in this thing! I could go on and on about it but I hope that those who intend to attempt to win this auction respect the fact that this is not your run of the mill pilot that you might see from time to time listed. Its truely something you will cherish. ALSO comes with lots of extra parts and 2 new rear tires still wrapped in honda packaging as seen in pictures. please dont bid unless you fully intend to buy. I know its value. You wont get it cheap. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BETTER EXAMPLE OF A TRUE SURVIVOR IN THE ATV MARKET.THIS MACHINE HAS BEEN MY UNCLES SINCE NEW AND WAS 1 OF 6 HE OWNED. IT WAS FOR MY AUNT BUT SHE ALMOST NEVER RODE IT(AND THE RIDING THAT SHE DID WAS IN THE YARD). MOST OF ITS LIFE IT SAT UNDER A COVER ON A PALLET RACK. THE WORST SCRATCH IS ON THE BACK BUMPER AREA WHERE IT RUBBED THE WALL WHEN IT WAS FOLKLIFTED ONTO THE RACK. PLEASE LOOK AT COMPLETED LISTINGS OF ALL THE PILOTS THAT RECENTLY SOLD SO YOU CAN SEE HOW NICE THIS ONE REALLY IS. MY RESERVE IS SET VERY LOW COMPARED TO OTHERS.
