Here we have another great, NO RESERVE auction, from C&J Auto Sales. This is a 94 Chevy K2500 4x4 with a 5.7 and a 5 speed manual transmission. Let me start off by saying that Although this is a great running and driving truck, it does have a worn out 3rd gear syncronizer. That is really the only functional negative I have noticed about the truck. So what exactly does this mean? Well, to put it simply, it is difficult , if not impossible, for a novice to get it into 3rd gear. If you are a professional, commercial driver with a CDL, this is not a problem. The truck can be driven through all the gears easily, all day long, by simply matching your speed to the RPM's, and she drops right in. I have been driving it around with no problems using this method. So does the transmission need rebuilt now? Well, yes and no. Again, that depends on your level of driving skill. If I was keeping the truck for myself, I would leave it alone till it needed a clutch job and was already out. If it was for my wife or kids to drive, it would need to be corrected immediately. This is a model NV4500 transmission. There are several syncronizer Kits available right here on Ebay for dirt cheap. Anyway, now that this is out in the open, lets move forward. The 350 engine sounds great! It holds good oil pressure. No knocks, drips, pings, smoke, or strange noises. The clutch grips tight. The transfer case goes through 4x4 high and low range correctly. The diferentials operate smoothly without slop. The truck goes down the hyway @ 75 MPH nice and smooth and quiet. The heater works great. The A.C. will likely need charged. (I haven't even tried it). The electric windows both work and it has a brand new windshield. The front brakes are as new. I haven't looked at the rears. The steering feels tight. All the lights work. The exhaust system isn't rusted out. There are plenty of scratches, dings and dents consistent with a farm/ ranch truck of it's age and miles. The tires are in fair condition. The truck is solid, no rust like you see out east. This could be a great work/ farm truck for not a lot of money for the right individual. There is also a $300+ B&W gooseneck hitch aleady installed in back! As you can imagine, with any used vehicle, it is nearly impossible to cover every last square inch in detail with this brief description. There are many different companies that specialize in doing nothing but that. They generally charge between $100-$175 and may truly be a bargain to give you piece of mind and any additional info you may need. The vehicle will be made available for inspection by appointment. If you decide to forego the inspection, there really is no reason you should be unhappy about anything after the auction has ended. Most of our vehicles are generally purchased at dealer only auctions for the sole purpose of resale. We sell these vehicles FAR below any dealer retail prices. This gives you room for any additional repairs that you see fit. They have not undergone ANY type of inspections/ or tests for ANYTHING. This includes emmissions and safety inspections. We cannot guarantee compliance of the vehicle for your state, because every state has different requirements as far as safety and emissions inspections are concerned.
