Vehicle Detail
For sale with no reserve is this 1966 Dodge A100 Montvale VA Volunteer Fire Dept Van. This is a former emergency vehicle used by the Volunteer Fire department of Montvale Virginia from the mid 70s up until the late 80s. They affectionately called it the Scooby Van. This has got to be the coolest cherry red vintage Dodge Van around: it is a short wheelbase 90", 225 slant 6 with a 3 speed manual trans. I have so much fun driving this and EVERYBODY loves it! There are many classic cars that present no interest to the average citizen... but THIS VAN gets ALL the attention because there is nobody who doesnt like FIRE TRUCKS! This is a great running, solid van with a fantastic drivetrain, a super clean interior and all the bells, whistles, lights and SIRENS! I mean try, really TRY to picture a cooler vehicle to drive, can you? I mean sure you can drive something alot more expensive but, WOW, there is nothing like this neat old fire truck to cruise in! Not getting enough attention? Turn on the lights! Hit the siren! They work! Man, Im gonna talk myself out of selling it if I dont stop. I need to raise some dough to pay the house payment but hey, who doesnt? I know I will seriously regret selling this ride, the collest of ALL Dodge Vans in existence! Well, I guess if this was chopped it MIGHT be cooler. No offense if your Dodge Van is less cool, this is just a little truth in advertising, no hard feelings, K? I mean LOOK at the red interior, the extra back seat, the vintage fire extinguisher, the CB, the clean gauges, the original spare, its a real FIRE TRUCK! Im sorry I keep going on about that, but hey, you gotta understand what its like to drive this! OK, you get in, pump the gas once, turn the key and BROOM it starts right up first turn! Then you ease in the clutch, drop it in gear and GO! It hits all the gears with ease, the motor was rebuilt for heavy duty action with a new radiator, remote fan for extended stops, heavy duty brakes and a 8 3/4" rear that gets up the mountain roads! Cruise the interstate, hit a car show, make a junkyard run for stuff like ENGINES or fight a friggin fire! If you aint getting noticed while cruisin the 'vard hit the lights! Wail the siren! (make certain you follow all laws) Not just ANYBODY can own a van like this, Im not sure if I CAN but you definitely have to show respect for the brand: Firemen and all the work they do is essential and GREATLY appreciated and you need to honor the legacy. What are you going to do? Pay your bills or bid on this van? You know you want it! Dont consult the wife, slip the news to your kids, you are gonna want to own a fire truck! KIDS LOVE EM! Chicks dig em and EVERYBODY loves FIREMEN! What are you waiting for? BID TO WIN TODAY! Winning bidder must have cash on hand, be willing to pay the $250 reserve and have the time to pick it up! No reserve, means no reserve: bidder with the most cash wins. Bidder who pays on time gets the attention: pretty much the same with all of life: You gotta pay to play! Clear VA title, paperwork, etc.
