The vehicles I sell are fresh trades from local dealerships and are sold "as-is/as-traded"...which means they have not been serviced or reconditioned. Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on ebay. This description is an account of how this car preformed during its road test. I encourage every prospective bidder to come see and drive a vehicle in person before bidding. Vehicles are shown by appointment only at my York, PA warehouse. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a beautifull 1983 Buick Riviera coupe. Since its introduction, the Riviera has been the flagship coupe of the Buick line and it's easy to see why. This example is in great condition for its age. The two tone brown/tan exterior shows very well. I would rate the exterior of this Buick to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. Please expect to find some scratches here and there as you would expect to find on a car of this age. The only bad thing I can say about the exterior of this Buick is that it will need bumper fillers all around (as most of these crack over time). All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The wire wheel covers look good. The tires have good tread and the white walls appear to have been well kept. This car gets lots of looks everywhere I drive it. You don't see nice ones like this very often. I would rate the interior of this Buick as ABOVE AVERAGE. As you can see, the door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The headliner is clean and tight. The seats show almost no wear throughout the entire vehicle. The chrome and wood trim is still in great condition. This is a very comfortable car to drive. The two front seats are power operated and working properly. The original owners manual is included. This Riviera is equipped with optional Buick Concert Sound. The radio unit powers up with the car but I cannot get the radio to turn on. I have set the clock...so it works...but I can't get the radio on to test the speakers. The climate control system is working properly. The air conditioner blows cold air, too. The drivers window does not go down and will probably need a new motor or regulator. The windows are lightly tinted for a very sleek look. The trunk is clean and spacious. Mechanically, this Buick seems to be in good condition. She is equipped with the optional 5.0L V8 engine which starts easily and runs smoothly. I noticed no smoke or leaks from the engine. This car is amazingly easy to drive. The steering is light and responsive which is a pleasant surprise. The suspension is very tight and composed. The brakes stop the car well, too. The four speed overdrive transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Accelleration is easy thanks to the big V8 and highway speeds are achieved with little effort. Out on the highway, this car is born to cruise. It drives nice and strait with no vibrations or noises. This car feels as if it's geared to cruise at 75-80 mph. During the few days I've driven it, I have really come to like this car. I gravitate to big American boats in general...let alone ones you don't see every day like this. The next owner of this car should be very happy with their purchase. This car has a Pennsylvania Reconstructed Title. In the state of Pennsylvania, any time a vehicle is purchased by an insurance company from the insured (for any reason like damage, theft, ect.), the vehicle is issued a Salvage Certificate which is legal proof of ownership but registration cannot be issued on a Savlage Certificate. Any damage to the car must be documanted by both photos and in writing. Once any damage has been repaired, the before photos must be submitted along with the finished photos and a detailed list of any work done to the State Police. The vehicle must then undergo a thorough state inspection before it can be issued a Reconstructed Title. The required inspection is much like an annual safety inspection but much more in depth to insure that any damage has been properly repaired. I do not know why this car has a reconstructed title or when it was issued. I didn't see anything really troubling on this car. Again, a car must jump through a ton of hoops to be issued a reconstructed title in the state of PA. It also has newer PA safety and emissions inspection stickers, too. Please bid with confidence. I am happy to answer any questions but keep in mind...I don't have access to any history on this vehicle. It looks as if this Riviera was issued a reconstructed title sometime between 1997 and 1999 which is a good thing to see as a buyer. One should always be cautious of a newly "reconstructed" car because it hasn't had a chance to be driven.
